Shiba Inu Dog

A free crochet tutorial for a Shiba Inu dog by Evgeniya Kiseleva @kiseleva_toys.
Using this pattern, you can crochet a plush Shiba Inu dog. For this amigurumi project, you will need Himalaya Dolphin Baby plush yarn (or an equivalent). The dress and headband for the toy are also crocheted with plush yarn. The author offers two clothing options: a dress for a girl and overalls for a boy.
The finished toy dog size is about 24-26 cm.

Shiba Inu Dog Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
Arms, main color
Stuff lightly, a little above half of the arm.
1. 5 sc in MR
2. 5 inc = 10 sc
3-11. = 10 sc (9 rounds)
If the arm seems too short, crochet one more round of 10 sc. Fold and crochet 5 sc through both layers.
Muzzle, white
1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc = 12 sc
3. (3 sc, inc) x 3 = 15 sc
4. 15 sc, leave a tail for sewing
Tail, main color
7 ch, crochet from the second chain from the hook: 2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, leave a tail for sewing.
Ears, main color
1. 5 sc in MR
2. 5 inc = 10 sc
3. (4 sc, inc) x 2 = 12 sc
4. (3 sc, inc) x 3 = 15 sc
5. 15 sc (if you want shorter ears, skip this round), fold and crochet together
Embroider white stripes inside the ear.
Legs-body-head
Start with the main color and stuff as you go.
1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc = 12 sc
3-5. = 12 sc (3 rounds)
Fasten off the first leg. Crochet the second leg the same way, do not cut the yarn, chain 3 ch, join the first leg, and crochet:
6. 12 sc around one leg, 3 sc along the ch bridge, 12 sc around the second leg, 3 sc along the ch bridge = 30 sc
place a marker (marker at the back)
7. (4 sc, inc) x 6 = 36 sc
8-14. = 36 sc (7 rounds)
15. (4 sc, dec) x 6 = 30 sc
16-17. = 30 sc
18. (3 sc, dec) x 6 = 24 sc
19. 24 sc
20. (2 sc, dec) x 6 = 18 sc
21. Attach the arms now; place them evenly on the sides, with 5-6 sc in front = 18 sc
22. (4 sc, dec) x 3 = 15 sc
Change yarn to white
23. 15 inc = 30 sc
24. (4 sc, inc) x 6 = 36 sc
25. (5 sc, inc) x 6 = 42 sc
26-30. = 42 sc (5 rounds)
Change yarn back to the main color.
Insert the eyes between rounds 31 and 32. The distance depends on the eye size you choose: from 4 to 6 stitches between them. Try placing the nose and arrange the eyes. It is better to do this after you crochet the head a little higher.
31-35. = 42 sc (5 rounds)
36. (5 sc, dec) x 6 = 36 sc
37. (4 sc, dec) x 6 = 30 sc
38. (3 sc, dec) x 6 = 24 sc
39. (2 sc, dec) x 6 = 18 sc
40. (1 sc, dec) x 6 = 12 sc
41. 6 dec, pull the opening closed, fasten off
Assembling the Toy
Embroider the nose; make the nose itself with plush yarn and the mouth with embroidery floss. Sew on the muzzle through each stitch, add a little stuffing, and sew it so the muzzle does not become too wide. Place it between rounds 28 and 31, and keep checking the muzzle position while fitting.

Ears: sew them on, stepping back 3-4 rounds from the top. Keep trying everything on the toy, pin the position you want, then sew.
Sew the tail on around round 10-11.
Embroider eyebrows and eyelashes.
If desired, you can make a small tightening.
Headband
Crochet the headband in rows, through back loops, with a turning chain at the end of each row. Chain 6 ch and crochet a strip to the length you need so you can tie it in a knot and make a bow. Before finishing, try it on your toy.
Dress
Crochet with hdc stitches.
1. Chain 20 ch + 1 turning ch = 21 ch
2. 20 hdc inc = 40
3. 40 hdc
4. 5 hdc, then chain 9 ch (skip 9 stitches on the dress), then crochet 12 hdc, chain 9 ch again (skip 9 stitches), then 5 hdc = 40 hdc
5. 40 hdc
6. Increases of hdc in each stitch = 80
7. Crochet the length you need: 3-5 rows of hdc
Edge the side where the loop for the button will be. Fasten and hide all yarn tails.
Pants or Overalls
Chain as many ch as needed for your toy's circumference.
I got 70 ch. Join in the round and crochet hdc to the needed length, trying it on as you go. Mine took 15 rounds.
Try it on the toy, sew between the legs with the number of stitches needed (for me, it was 16). Each pant leg has 27 sc.
Overall Bib
Mark the front center of the pants, step back 5 stitches, join yarn, and crochet 10 hdc. At the end of each row, do not forget the turning chain. Crochet 4 rows this way. (If the bib is too small for your toy, crochet more rows.)
Straps
On the back of the pants, find the center and chain the required number of ch so that in front they overlap the bib a little. Crochet back with hdc, make a sl st, and chain the second strap to the needed length; crochet back with hdc the same way. Fasten off. Sew the straps to the front and sew buttons on top.
