Amigurumi little unicorn crochet pattern

Free crochet tutorial for the Little Unicorn by Darya Saltevskaya @dary_toys.

With this pattern, you can crochet a small plush unicorn. Any plush or fluffy yarn will work for this amigurumi. The horn can be made from polymer clay, or you can simply crochet a cone.

Materials and Tools

  • Plush yarn Himalaya Velvet (main color)
  • Plush yarn YarnArt Velour (for the muzzle)
  • Fluffy yarn Alize Softy (for the mane and tail)
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Cotton thread (for shaping and tightening the muzzle)
  • 14 mm safety eyes
  • Doll eyelashes
  • Toy stuffing
  • 25 mm horn
  • Needle
  • Scissors

Amigurumi Little Unicorn Crochet Pattern

Legs (4 Pieces)

1. 8 sc in MR
2-4. 8 sc (3 rounds)

Do not stuff. Fold and crochet 4 sc through both layers. Cut the yarn.

Ears (2 Pieces)

1. 6 sc in MR
2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 times (9)
3. 9 sc
4. (2 sc, inc) x 3 times (12)
5. 6 dec (6)

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Body and Head

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc (12)

Stuff the body.

Insert the eyes with glued-on eyelashes between rounds 19 and 20. Stuff the head.

Add more stuffing. Pull the opening closed, cut the yarn, and hide the end.

Muzzle

Crochet with YarnArt Jeans. Chain 3, then work into the second chain from the hook.

1. (3 sc in one stitch) x 2 times (6)
2. (3 inc) x 2 times (12)
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 times. (18)
4. 18 sc

Slip stitch. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Toy Assembly

  • Sew the muzzle on: at the bottom, place it right against the neck; at the top, place it right against the eyes.
  • Sew on the nostrils (I simply make double knots with YarnArt Jeans).
  • Sew on the horn.
  • Sew on the ears.
  • Sew on the arms, with the sewing line running along the body.
  • Sculpt the muzzle:
    • Insert a threaded needle at the bottom center of the muzzle and bring it out under the eye along the muzzle sewing line.
    • Move over by one stitch, insert the needle, and bring it back out at the starting point.
    • Pull tight and knot.
    • Repeat for the second eye (use the same starting point).
    • Cut the thread and hide it inside the head.

Amigurumi little unicorn crochet pattern

Mane

Cut Alize Softy into 25 cm pieces. If your Unicorn is made with a different yarn, the length may vary. Each piece will be folded in half and attached to the head. I have three different colors. Attach them to the head with a crochet hook. Make the mane as full as you like.

Tail

Cut Alize Softy into 15-17 cm pieces. Tie them firmly in the middle with strong thread and attach them to the body.
