Mane and Tail

Dolphin baby yarn, 4 mm crochet hook

The mane and tail are made from curls of different lengths.

1. Chain the required number of ch (chain stitches)
2. Starting from the second chain from the hook, work the following repeat along the chain: (2 sc, inc)

Mane for a plush crochet unicorn

For the whole Unicorn (mane, bangs, and tail), I made chains from:

  • 25 ch - 15 pieces (for the bangs and tail)
  • 50 ch - 15 pieces (for the tail and mane)
  • 75 ch - 15 pieces (for the tail and mane)
  • 100 ch - 10 pieces (for the mane)

I used the shortest curls (25 ch) for the bangs. For the tail, I used curls of different lengths (25 ch, 50 ch, 75 ch). The longest curls went into the mane (50 ch, 75 ch, 100 ch). The more curls you crochet, the fuller the mane and tail will be.

Sew on the curls, then carefully secure and hide the yarn tails.
