Vase with Pussy Willow Branches

With this tutorial, you can crochet a bouquet of pussy willow branches. Any cotton blend yarn will work for the amigurumi: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others.

Materials and Tools

• YarnArt Jeans yarn (vase color, 20-25 g)
• Gamma Iris yarn: 0930 brown (2 skeins), 0966 gray (1 skein)
• 2.5 mm hook (for the vase), 0.9 mm hook (for the branches), 1.7 mm hook (for the buds)
• Toy stuffing
• Plastic pellets
• Wire
• Lace trim
• Glue
• Scissors

Cut the yarn. Go back to Round 5, where the front loops of the stitches are still free.

Continue crocheting. The round numbering continues from here. Attach the yarn and crochet Round 6 into the front loops.

Branches (Make 5)

Crochet with a 0.9 mm hook using one strand of yarn.

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Rnd 2 and all following rounds: crochet 6 sc to the desired length. Mine are 25 cm long.

Take a piece of wire in the needed length, make a small loop, and insert it into the branch. Crochet 5 branches in total.

Buds (Make 25)

Each bud consists of 2 parts. Crochet with 2 strands of yarn and a 1.7 mm hook. Take the gray yarn:

Rnds 2-4: 6 sc (6)
Rnd 5: (dec) x 3 times (3), sl st.

Do not stuff the piece. Make 25 pieces, 5 for each branch. Take the brown yarn:

Row 1: Make a slip knot as you would for a magic ring, crochet 6 sc, pull tight, and turn your work.
Row 2: Make 1 turning ch. Then crochet: 2 sc increases, 2 dc increases, 2 sc increases.
Insert the hook into the first stitch and make a slip stitch.

Cut the yarn and hide the tail on the wrong side. You should get a concave petal. Make 25 pieces.

Using a small drop of hot glue, glue the two parts together.

Sew the buds to the branch: first sew down the base of the bud, then make 3 stitches on the right side and 3 stitches on the left side, trying to catch only the brown part. Decorate the vase with lace trim.
