Five-Minute Chick
A free crochet tutorial for the Five-Minute Chick by Vladlena Stadnyuk @plushiki_milart.
Using this pattern, you can crochet a chick keychain. You will need Alize Velluto plush yarn for this amigurumi project, though you can substitute any similar yarn. This easy toy is crocheted in one piece and takes just five minutes to make. You can turn it into a keychain.
Materials and tools
- Alize Velluto plush yarn: 06 orange and 216 yellow
- 2 mm crochet hook
- 12 mm safety eyes
- Toy stuffing
- Stitch markers
- Pins
- Keychain hardware

Crochet amigurumi Five-Minute Chick pattern
Work in the main yellow color.
Round 1. 8 sc in MR
Round 2. 8 inc (16)
Round 3. 16 sc (16)
In the next round, crochet the wings.
Round 4. 3 sc, wing (work across 2 stitches, using the front loops only! In the first front loop, sc + hdc; in the second front loop, hdc + sc), 6 sc, wing, 3 sc (16)
Round 5. 3 sc, 2 sc in the back loops behind the wing, 6 sc, 2 sc in the back loops behind the wing, 3 sc (16)
Insert the 12 mm safety eyes near the wings, between Rounds 4 and 5. Now crochet the feet.
Round 6. 6 sc, foot in orange (3-dc cluster), 2 sc, foot in orange, 6 sc (16)
Stuff the chick.
Round 7. 8 dec
Cut the yarn and pull the opening closed. Embroider the beak with orange yarn.
