Unicorn Egg

Free crochet pattern for a Unicorn Egg by Ekaterina Chirkova @chirka_toys.

With this pattern, you can crochet a unicorn. For this amigurumi project, you can use any plush yarn for the egg and cotton blend yarn for the flowers and horn. You will also need beads to decorate the flowers.

Materials and Tools

• Himalaya Dolphin Fine yarn (100 g / 175 m)
• YarnArt Jeans yarn (50 g / 160 m)
• Acrylic yarn (100 g / 430 m)
• 2 mm and 3 mm crochet hooks
• Toy stuffing
• 4 mm beads
• Soft pastels
• Pins
• Needle for sewing pieces together
• Scissors

Crochet amigurumi Unicorn Egg pattern

Egg

Crochet with Himalaya Dolphin Fine yarn. You can substitute Dolphin Baby, but you need to crochet as tightly as possible and use a hook no larger than 3 mm.

Cut the yarn and close the opening with a needle.

Ears (make 2)

Crochet with Himalaya Dolphin Fine yarn.

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 3 inc, 1 ch, 3 inc, sl st.

The chain stitch forms the tip of the ear. Cut the yarn, leaving a small tail for sewing the piece on.

If desired, tint the inside of the ear with soft pastels. At the base of the ear, make a couple of stitches so the ear takes on a petal shape, but remember that the 1 ch is the tip of the ear.

Horn

Crochet with acrylic yarn or a similar yarn, using a 2 mm hook.

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff the horn.

Flower (make 5)

Crochet with YarnArt Jeans cotton blend yarn, 50 g / 160 m, using a 2 mm hook. Make a magic ring and crochet the entire round into the ring:

(3 ch, 2 dc, 3 ch, sl st) x 5

You will get 5 petals. Tighten the magic ring to make a neat flower. Be careful not to break the yarn.

Fasten off and leave a small tail for sewing the piece on.

Assembly

• Sew the horn to the top of the egg.
• Sew the ears 1-2 sc away from the horn, placing them slightly closer to the back of the head.
• First, secure the flowers with pins to mark their placement. Sew them on with the yarn tail that was left after crocheting each flower.
• Sew a bead into the center of each flower.
• Embroider the eyes with YarnArt Jeans yarn, placing them 2 sc apart.
