Assembly and Finishing

- Insert the eyes between Rounds 11 and 12, 5 sc apart.
- Join the two pieces using the long yarn tail. Follow the photo: on the inside of one piece, locate the back loops of Round 15. Lift them with your needle all the way around to make the pieces easier to join. Place one piece inside the other. Pick up a front loop and a lifted loop, sewing first from bottom to top, then through the next stitch from top to bottom. Continue alternating this way to the end of the round. Since the pieces have different stitch counts (40 on one and 42 on the other), skip two stitches. Simply do not pick them up. Space the skipped stitches evenly, 20 stitches apart. Remember to add stuffing as you sew. When finished, fasten off as usual, weave in the yarn ends, and trim any excess.
- Sew on the nose. You do not need to stuff it. Position it in the center, slightly below the eye line.
- Sew on the handle. Position it on either the left or right side.
- Embroider the eyelashes and smile as desired.
- Apply blush or soft pastels to the cheeks. If you plan to use the toy as a Christmas tree ornament, add a hanging loop using a suitable thread.
And voilà—your toy is ready! Decorate it however you like. Happy crocheting!
