Simon's Cat

Free crochet tutorial for Simon's Cat by Ekaterina Gorban @veselko_h.made.

With this pattern, you can crochet a plush Simon's Cat. Any plush yarn will work for this amigurumi: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, NAKO Panda Baby, and others.

The finished toy is about 43 cm tall.

Materials and Tools

• Plush yarn (2 skeins of the main color)
• 4 mm crochet hook
• Safety eyes, 9-10 mm
• Safety nose, 20x16 mm
• Toy stuffing
• Needle for sewing pieces together
• Scissors

Amigurumi Simon's Cat Crochet Pattern

The hind legs, body, head, and ears are worked as one piece.

Finish crocheting, stuff, cut the yarn, and weave in the end. Crochet the second hind leg. At the end of Round 17, do NOT cut the yarn; instead, crochet 2 more sc to shift the beginning of the round, then ch 8 and continue with the next round.

Stuff the body. If your nose has a safety backing, insert it now approximately between Rounds 45 and 46.

Fold the fabric in half and find the center. The marker should be exactly in the middle of the fabric. If it is not, crochet or unravel the needed number of sc so the marker lands in the middle of the fabric (between the sides). Insert the hook into the center stitch of the opposite wall and crochet them together. This sews the piece together through the middle, creating two openings for the ears. Start crocheting the ear.

Finish crocheting and stuff the jingle bells.

Sew the hole between the bells closed (if one formed when joining them together), and in the same spot, use two or three stitches to sew one bell to the other, pulling them tight so they sit close together and do not stick out in different directions.

Toy Assembly

• Sew on the eyes approximately between Rounds 46 and 56, stuffing them lightly with fiberfill
• Sew 4 toes to each front paw and 3 toes to each hind paw
• Sew the paw pads to the paws without stuffing them
• Sew the front paws to the sides a couple of rounds below the eyes, positioning them so they point upward. Add stuffing as you sew so the paws are secured better and do not dangle
• Sew on the tail and jingle bells
• Embroider the muzzle and belly button with black thread
• Embroider an outline around the eyes and paw pads with black thread using chain stitch.
