Crochet Lying Kitten Amigurumi Pattern

Instead of white Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn, I used the thin plush yarn I had on hand, held double to achieve the same thickness.

With these materials, the finished toy is 8 in (20 cm) long.

Hind Legs — Body — Front Legs

Stuff the piece as you go. Start with white.

1. 6 sc in MR (6)
2. 6 inc (12)
3-4. 12 sc (12)
Change to the main color.
5-9. 12 sc (12)
10. On the first leg, make a sl st and fasten off. Crochet the second leg in the same way as Rounds 1-9. Then ch 6, join to the first leg (on the side opposite the slip stitch so the legs are level), and work 12 sc around the first leg, 6 sc across the chain, 12 sc around the second leg, and another 6 sc along the other side of the chain (36)
11-26. 36 sc (36) = 16 rounds
Now begin the front legs. Without fastening off, work 12 sc and join them into a round. Work 4 rounds in total.
Change to white.
12 sc, 6 dec, close the opening.
Count 6 stitches from the finished leg. Join the main-color yarn in the 7th stitch and crochet the second leg: 12 sc around for 4 rounds.
Change to white.
12 sc, 6 dec, close the opening.
Sew together the remaining 12 stitches between the legs. There may be small gaps beside the legs; sew those closed as well.

Do not stuff! Start with white.

1. 4 sc in MR (4)

Fold in half and crochet both sides together with 4 sc. Make a sl st and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew to the body between Rounds 12 and 13.

Head

Stuff the piece as you go.

Insert the nose between Rounds 2 and 3 of the muzzle, or embroider it later. Insert the 12 mm eyes between Rounds 5 and 6, 8 sc (8 stitch posts) apart.

Start with white.

1. Ch 5. Starting in the second ch from the hook: inc, 2 sc, 3 sc in the last ch, 3 sc (10)
2. 2 inc, 2 sc, 3 inc, 2 sc, inc (16)
3. 16 sc (16)
