Crochet Instructions for the Amigurumi Pom-Pom Cat

Ball-Shaped Body (Any Faux Fur Yarn Will Work)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR
Rnd 2: inc x 6 times (12)
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
Rnds 4-6 (3 rnds): 18 sc
Rnd 7: (sc, dec) x 6 times (12)
Rnd 8: dec x 6 times

Stuff the piece, close the opening, and hide the yarn tail. Brush out the body to fluff up and straighten the fibers.

Tail (With Regular Plush Yarn)

With white yarn:

Rnd 1: 8 sc in MR
Rnd 2: 8 sc. Change to another color:
Rnd 3: 8 sc
Rnd 4: (2 sc, dec) x 2 times (6)
Rnds 5-6 (2 rnds): 6 sc
Rnd 7: (sc, dec) x 2 times (4)

Close the opening and hide the yarn tail. I do not stuff the tail.

Ears (Worked Into Three Stitches With Regular Plush Yarn)

1. Join the yarn and work 1 sc into the same stitch.
2. In the next stitch, work 1 hdc, 1 dc, and 1 ch; then work back with 1 sl st and 1 hdc.
3. In the next stitch, work 1 sc and 1 sl st.

Make the second ear the same way, positioning it symmetrically.

Finishing

Trim the fur where the eyes will go, then glue them in place (I used 12 mm cabochons).

Trim the fur around the eyes (so the cat does not look angry) and near the ears (so they are easier to see).

Attach the tail to the body with a jump ring so it can dangle freely. You can also simply sew the tail in place.

Attach a lobster clasp and any other accessories you like to the cat.
