Prepare a piece of wire: twist it so you get a length of about 8-9 cm, then wrap it with masking tape. Insert it halfway into the body. This helps make the neck area stronger at the bend so the head stays firmly in place over time.

Head

R2. 8 inc (16)
R3. (1 sc, inc) x 8 (24)
R4. (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)

R27. (3 sc, dec) x 9 (36)
R28. (2 sc, dec) x 9 (27) 3 dec, sl st, (24)

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Dress

Use a 1.5 mm crochet hook. Crochet in turning rows:

R1. 29 ch (leave a long yarn tail; later you will use it to crochet button loops)
R2. Starting in the second ch from the hook: 28 sc
R3. 28 inc (56), 2 ch
R4. 56 dc
R5. 8 sc, 5 ch, skip 12 sc, 16 sc, 5 ch, skip 12 sc, 8 sc (42)
R6. 42 sc
R7. (6 sc, inc) x 6 (48)
R8-9. 48 sc (you can work these rounds in another color to make a belt)
R10. 48 dc inc (96)
R11. 96 dc, do not turn your work, join into a circle with a sl st. 2 ch, then continue crocheting in the round for 4 rounds of dc.

On the blue dress, I finished the edge like this: 1 ch, sl st, repeated to the end of the round. Use the yarn tail you left to crochet 2 button loops, each made of 6 ch, as shown in the photo. Sew on the buttons. The dress is finished.

Shorts

Leave a long yarn tail, about 3 m, for crocheting the top and straps. Chain 44, join into a circle, and crochet 3 rounds.

In round 4, make an opening for the tail: 7 ch, skip 7 sc, and continue crocheting in the 8th sc.

R5-14. 44 sc.

Switch to crocheting the top using the yarn tail you left.

Work 8 sc from the wrong side, into the other side of the chain stitches you made at the very beginning. Then crochet 4 turning rows. Without cutting the yarn, chain 16 for the first strap. Count 8 sc; begin crocheting in the 9th sc and work 15 sc. Without cutting the yarn, chain 16 for the second strap. Fasten the yarn to the upper part of the overalls, cut the yarn, and weave in the end.

Continue crocheting the bottom. Fold the overalls in half and crochet several sc so the work ends at the center of the upper part of the overalls. Count 20 sc and join the work into a circle for the first pant leg. Crochet 2 rounds, sl st, cut the yarn, and weave in the end. There should be 2 sc left between the pant legs at the front and back. Join the yarn at the beginning of the first pant leg, crochet 2 sc joining the two sides of the overalls. Then crochet 2 rounds of 20 sc in the round for the second pant leg, sl st, fasten off, cut the yarn, and weave in the ends. The overalls are finished.

Little Tiger Ears (make 2)

Each ear is made of two pieces.

First Piece

Crochet with white yarn:

R1. 8 sc in MR, 1 ch, turn
R2. (1 sc, inc) x 4 (12), 1 ch, turn
R3. 12 sc, 1 ch, turn, change to orange
R4. 12 sc, 1 ch, turn
R5. (2 sc, inc) x 4 (16), fasten off, cut the yarn

Second Piece

Crochet with orange yarn:

R1. 8 sc in MR, 1 ch, turn
R2. (1 sc, inc) x 4 (12), 1 ch, turn
R3-4. 12 sc, 1 ch, turn,
R5. (2 sc, inc) x 4 (16), fold the two pieces together and join them with sc along the base (I got 11 sc)

Next, change to black yarn. Keep the orange side facing out and leave a long tail for sewing. Crochet sc along the remaining edge of the piece (I got 18 sc). Do not stuff the ears. Sew them between rounds 5 and 16, symmetrically, with the ear depth at 3-4 sc.

Little Tiger Muzzle

With white yarn:

R1. 6 sc in MR
R2. 6 inc (12)
R3. (3 inc, 3 sc) x 2 (18)
R4. (1 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc (24)
R5. (2 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc (30)

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing between rounds 15 and 24.

Finishing the Little Tiger

  • Make eye tightening if desired.
  • Embroider the nose, eyebrows, and stripes between the ears and along the sides with white yarn if desired.
  • Embroider the whites of the eyes.
  • Sew the head to the body, first pinning them together around the circle with pins (or secure them with a knitting needle, as I do). Sew with an invisible seam: insert the needle first under the base of a stitch on the head, then under the base of a stitch on the neck, then pull the yarn tight. Hide the yarn end inside the piece.
