Tiger Rattle

Free crochet pattern for Tiger Rattle by Leysan Moskvina @made_by_leysan.

With this pattern, you can crochet a tiger-shaped rattle. Any cotton blend yarn will work for this amigurumi: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others.

The finished toy is about 19 cm tall.

Materials and Tools

• YarnArt Jeans yarn: orange, black, white
• 2 mm crochet hook
• Toy stuffing
• Wooden ring, 65-70 mm
• Rattle insert
• Needle for sewing pieces together
• Scissors

Head

Crochet in orange. The stripes will be embroidered with black yarn during the finishing stage. The number in parentheses is the total number of stitches in the round. Crochet in a spiral without making a turning chain.

Stuff the head and insert the rattle.

Finish stuffing the head.

Cut the yarn, pull the remaining stitches closed, and hide the yarn tail inside the head.

Muzzle

Crochet in white. Make two identical pieces.

Cut and fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Ear (2 Pieces)

Make 2 pieces in orange and 2 pieces in white.

1: Work 3 ch + 5 dc into MR. Turn (do NOT join into a round).
2: 2 ch + 6 dc inc, turn.
3: 1 ch + 12 sc.

Cut the yarn and fasten off. Place one orange piece and one white piece together, then crochet around them with black yarn.

Tail

Do not stuff this piece. Start crocheting in black.

Front Paws (2 Pieces)

Start crocheting in white.

Back Paws (2 Pieces)

Start crocheting in white.

1: 6 ch, starting in the 2nd chain from the hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in 1 stitch, 3 sc along the other side, 2 sc in 1 stitch (12)

Change to orange yarn. Stuff only the white part of the paw.

Fold the piece in half. The paw should be straight. If yours is not, work a few extra sc.
22: Change to orange yarn. Fold in half, crochet 6 sc + ch, turn
23: 6 sc + ch, turn
24: 6 sc + ch, turn.

Crochet as many rows as needed. As you work, try the piece on the ring. Once it reaches the needed length, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Ring Cover

Start crocheting in orange. Crochet in turning rows.

1: 20 ch + tch
2: 20 sc + tch
3: 20 sc + tch (make the turning chain in black)
4: 20 sc + tch (tch in orange)
5: 20 sc + tch
6: 20 sc + tch (tch in black)
7: 20 sc + tch (tch in orange)
8: 20 sc + tch
9: 20 sc

Try the piece on as you crochet; you may need more or fewer rows. Alternate 2 orange rows with 1 black row. Once the piece reaches the needed size, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Hide the yarn tails.

Toy Assembly

• Muzzle. Pin in place, then sew on.
• Ears. Pin them in the desired position. Slightly round the shape.
• Ring cover. Sew the edges together. At the end, bring the yarn to the center and leave a tail for sewing on the head.
• Next, sew on the tail, back paws, and front paws.
• Add shaping to the back paws. To do this, I split YarnArt Jeans yarn in half.
• Embroider the muzzle. I use YarnArt Jeans yarn for this. The eyes can be smiling or sleepy, whichever you prefer.
• Make the nose and smile.
• Embroider 3 stripes each on the top, left, and right.
