Amigurumi crochet goat kids

A free crochet tutorial for Goat Kids by Julia Gavrilova @julia_knitting11.

Using this pattern, you can crochet two goat kids: a boy and a girl. For this amigurumi project, you will need plush yarn (as the main yarn) and cotton yarn (for the clothes). Both toys are made in a very similar way and differ only in clothing. You can use decorative buttons for embellishment.

  • Crochet hooks: 3.5 mm (for plush yarn) and 2 mm (for cotton yarn)

Next, with the same yarn, make button loops on the back. On the left side: (5 ch, 4 sl st) x 3, 5 ch, sl st, cut the yarn, fasten off, and weave in the end. Along the hem edge, with white yarn, work in BLO: (sl st, ch) x 156.

Collar

Start from the side with button loops: 38 sl st along the neckline, tch, turn, in BLO 13 sl st, 2 sc, 2 hdc, inc from dc, 1 dc, 3 ch, sl st in the same stitch as the last dc, sl st in the next stitch, 3 ch, dc in the same stitch as 3 ch, inc from dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, 13 sl st.

Sleeve edging

Along the sleeve edge: (3 dc in one stitch) x 14, cut the yellow yarn; with white yarn work in BLO: (sl st, ch) x 42.

Cardigan for the boy is worked the same as the girl's up to round 6

Next, with the same yarn, make button loops on the back. On the left side: (5 ch, 5 sl st) x 2, 5 ch, sl st, cut the yarn, fasten off, and weave in the end.

Shorts

For both the girl and the boy, the shorts are worked the same way.

1. Chain 52 ch, join into a ring, 3 tch, 51 dc
2-9. 3 tch, 51 sc (8 rounds)

Fold in half and from the wrong side sew in the middle with 6 sc through both layers; each leg should have 23 stitches left. For the girl, edge the leg openings with white yarn: (sl st, ch) x 23.

For the boy, make straps for the shorts. Attach yarn at the center back, chain 35 ch, from the 6th chain from hook work 30 sc.

Sew on buttons. Hang. You can sew on a small bell or glue any decorative piece to the cardigans or shorts; I used wooden decorative buttons.
