Sweet Treats

A free crochet tutorial for Sweet Treats by Vera @toys_vera.
Using this tutorial, you can crochet a square cookie, a kalach ring bun, a gingerbread cookie, and a round cookie with marmalade. For these pastry-themed pieces, any cotton blend yarn in matching shades and a suitable hook will work. The author recommends YarnArt Jeans.
Materials and tools
- YarnArt Jeans yarn
- 2.75 mm crochet hook
- Toy stuffing
- Cardboard or plastic
- Needle for sewing pieces
- Scissors

Crochet amigurumi sweet treats pattern
Square cookie

Bottom part of the cookie:
Chain 14 ch
Round 1: Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, 13 sc
Rounds 2-10: 1 ch to turn, 13 sc
Cut and fasten off the yarn. Cut a cardboard/plastic insert in the same shape as the piece.
Top part of the cookie:
Chain 14 ch
Round 1: Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, 13 hdc
Round 2: 1 ch to turn, 13 sc in BLO
Round 3: 1 ch to turn, 13 hdc in FLO
Rounds 4, 6, 8: work as Round 2
Rounds 5, 7: work as Round 4
Cut the yarn. Join the top and bottom pieces with sc, inserting the base inside. Decorate the cookie with beads if desired.
Kalach ring bun

Chain 12 ch and join into a ring with a sl st. Work in rounds, alternating 1 sc and 1 post sc all the way around (12 stitches in each round).
Crochet a tube this way to a length of 15 cm (I got 26 rounds). Stuff the piece and sew the two ends together with a needle to form a ring bun.

Round 1: 8 sc in MR
Round 2: 8 inc (16)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 8 (24)
Round 4: (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x 8 (32)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 8 (40)
Round 6: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) x 8 (48)
Round 7: 48 sc, 2 sl st
Cut a base insert in the shape of the piece
Round 8: 48 sc in BLO
Round 9: 2 ch to start, (4 dc, 2 dc together) x 8
Round 10: 2 ch to start, (3 dc, 2 dc together) x 8
Insert the base
Round 11: 2 ch to start, (2 dc, 2 dc together) x 8
Round 12: 2 ch to start, (1 dc, 2 dc together) x 8
Stuff the piece
Round 13: 16 sc
Round 14: 8 dec
Pull the opening closed. Decorate the gingerbread cookie as desired, for example by embroidering chocolate crumbs.

Insert the base
The post stitches should line up one above another!
Round 9: (dec, 1 post sc) x 8
Round 10: 10 dec
Pull the opening closed.

Marmalade candy
Round 1: 12 dc in MR, sl st
Round 2: 12 dc
Round 3: 6 dec
Pull the opening closed, stitch through the piece a few times to flatten it, then sew or glue the marmalade candy onto the cookie.
