Christmas Stocking
Free crochet tutorial for a Christmas Stocking by Marina Chuchkalova @mycrochetwonders.
Using this pattern, you can crochet a Christmas stocking. Any cotton blend yarn will work for this amigurumi project: Alize Cotton Gold, YarnArt Jeans, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others.
The finished toy is about 7 cm tall.

- Alize Cotton Gold yarn: 56 red, 126 green, 55 white
- 2 mm crochet hook
- Toy stuffing

Christmas Stocking
With red yarn.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
Round 6: (5 sc, inc) x 5 (35)
Round 7: sc in each stitch (35)
Round 8: (6 sc, inc) x 5 (40)
Round 9: sc in each stitch (40)
Round 10: (7 sc, inc) x 5 (45)
Round 11: sc in each stitch (45)
Round 12: (8 sc, inc) x 5 (50)
Rounds 13-18: 6 rounds - sc in each stitch (50)
Round 19: without cutting the yarn, chain 25, join the chain to the middle of the round on the opposite side,
counting 25 sts to the left. Crochet the remaining 25 sts with sc.
Start the next round by crocheting along the chain.
Rounds 20-22: 3 rounds - sc in each stitch (50)
Change to white yarn.
Round 23: sc in each stitch (50)
Change to green yarn.
Round 24: sc in each stitch (50)
Change to red yarn.
Rounds 25-27: 3 rounds - sc in each stitch (50)
Rounds 28-29: 2 rounds - BLO sc in each stitch (50)
Cut and fasten off the yarn.
Heel
Attach green yarn to the center of the heel at the back. Crochet sc to the first corner, work 3 sc together in the corner, continue crocheting sc along the heel, and work 3 sc together again in the second corner. Crochet sc to the end of the round. Change to white yarn and crochet sc in a spiral, making decreases with 3 sc in the corners, until the opening decreases to 17 sts.
Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew the opening closed and hide the end inside.
Top Trim
Attach white yarn to the first free half-loop of round 27. Chain 3, make a sl st in the next st. Work upward along the line for two rounds, chaining 3 and attaching the chain with a slip stitch to each half-loop. Fasten off the yarn.
Place stuffing inside the stocking so it holds its shape, then seat the penguin in it.
