Crochet amigurumi penguin in a hat

With this pattern, you can crochet a small penguin in a hat. Any cotton blend yarn will work for the amigurumi: Alize Cotton Gold, YarnArt Jeans, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others. For the hat, you can use any two colors, for example, red and white, blue and green, or blue and light blue.

The finished toy measures about 9 cm.

Head and Body

One piece, worked from top to bottom. It will be helpful if you have two skeins of black yarn. If you only have one, wind a small ball in advance or use the other end of the skein.

Start with white yarn. Stuff as you go.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)

Change to black yarn.
Round 7: BLO - sl st in each stitch (36)

Set the work aside for a moment. Attach a new black yarn to the first front loop of Round 7 and crochet in the round: 15 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 15 sc.

Fasten off. With black yarn, sew the two middle tr stitches to the white part, as if continuing these stitches for 2 rounds toward the center. Embroider the beak with orange yarn. Insert the eyes level with the beak. Embroider the cheeks with pink yarn. Return to crocheting the body.

Do not stuff. Fold the wing in half and crochet the edges together with sc. Leave a tail for sewing.

Feet (Make 2)

With orange yarn, chain 2. In the 1st stitch, crochet: 2 hdc, ch, sl st, ch, 2 hdc, ch, sl st.

Leave a tail for sewing.

Tail

With black yarn, crochet into a magic ring: (2 ch, 1 popcorn stitch, 2 ch, sl st) x 5.

Popcorn stitch - crochet 3 unfinished dc into the same stitch and work them together. Pull the ring tight. Leave a tail for sewing.
