Spooky Pumpkin

Free crochet tutorial for a Spooky Pumpkin by @byluizasmom.
With this pattern, you can crochet a pumpkin for Halloween. The ball is crocheted in a classic way, but you can make it in different styles:
- 🧡 orange - sc through both loops
- 🖤 gothic - sc in the back loop only
In the second version, the pumpkin will turn out slightly larger.
Materials and Tools
- Yarn
- Crochet hook
- Thin cotton cord, 1-2 mm
- Buttons (for the eyes)
- Needle for sewing pieces together
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- MR - magic ring
- sc - single crochet
- inc - increase
- dec - decrease
- (...) x n - repeat n times
Crochet Amigurumi Spooky Pumpkin Pattern
Into the MR, crochet the first round in a circle: 8 single crochet stitches (in the back loop only or through both loops - your choice)
Crochet in a spiral; do not chain up at the beginning of each round. Increases and decreases are evenly distributed around the round (8 per round).
1: 8 sc in MR
2: 16 sc - inc in each stitch of the first round
3: 24 sc - inc in every second stitch of the previous round
4: 32 sc - inc in every third stitch
5: 40 sc - inc in every fourth stitch
6: 48 sc - inc in every fifth stitch
7: 48 sc (no increases)
8: 56 sc - inc in every sixth stitch
9-19: 56 sc (no increases)
20: 48 sc - dec in every sixth stitch
21: 48 sc (no decreases)
22: 40 sc - dec in every fifth stitch
23: 32 sc - dec in every fourth stitch
24: 24 sc - dec in every third stitch
Stuff the pumpkin with filling (fiberfill/polyester stuffing)
25: 16 sc - dec in every second stitch
26: 8 sc - 8 consecutive dec
Assembling the Toy

Sew the opening closed. Divide the finished ball into 5-6 sections and pull slightly to shape it into a pumpkin. You can crochet a stem on top as a small post, or simply make a hanging loop from cord. To finish the look, sew on button eyes and embroider the mouth and nose.
