Pumpkin Man - Little Monster

Free Pumpkin Man crochet tutorial by Valeria Barteneva @valerika_crochettoys.

With this pattern, you can crochet a little pumpkin character. Any plush yarn works for this little monster: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, Bonbon Panda Baby, and others. This plush pumpkin can become a great Halloween decoration.

Yarn usage: half a skein.

Materials and Tools

• Orange plush yarn (for the pumpkin)
• Green plush yarn (for the stem)
• Black embroidery thread
• 4 mm crochet hook
• 16 mm safety eyes
• Toy stuffing
• Needle for sewing parts together
• Scissors

Insert the eyes between rounds 15 and 16, spacing them 7-8 sc apart.

Do not close the opening. Stuff the head loosely.

Face Shaping

Take a strong thread doubled to match the main yarn color and a long needle. Shape the face by pulling the stitches: insert the thread from the back of the head at eye level (not from the bottom), as if sinking the eyes into the head. Shape one eye first, secure the thread with a knot, trim, and hide the tail. Repeat the same for the second eye.

Now divide the head into sections like a pumpkin, but do not divide the part with the eyes. You can start shaping sections 1-2 sc away from an eye. The tension can be asymmetrical: tighter in some places, looser in others.

With black thread, embroider a smile, seam lines, and eyebrows above the eyes.

Stem

In green:

Sew the stem to the head.

Arms (2 pieces)

Fasten off, cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
