Crochet amigurumi plush teddy bear

With this pattern, you can crochet a plush teddy bear. Any plush yarn will work for this amigurumi: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, and others. If you like, you can decorate the bear with a ribbon or a crocheted scarf.

Materials and Tools

  • Himalaya Dolphin Baby plush yarn (about 130 g)
  • Yarn (acrylic/cotton blend, about 5 g)
  • 2 mm and 3.5 mm crochet hooks
  • 18 mm safety eyes
  • Toy stuffing
  • Decoration
  • Needle for sewing on pieces
  • Scissors

Crochet Amigurumi Plush Teddy Bear Pattern

Legs (make 2)

Acrylic/cotton blend, 2 mm hook:

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc = 12 sc
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 = 18 sc
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 = 24 sc
5. (3 sc, inc) x 6 = 30 sc
Himalaya, 2 mm hook:
6. 30 sc
Himalaya, 3.5 mm hook:
7. 30 sc
8. 7 sc, 3 dec, 7 sc = 22 sc
9. 5 sc, 6 dec, 5 sc = 16 sc
10-15. 16 sc (6 rounds)

Cut the yarn on both legs, hide the ends, and stuff with fiberfill.

Body

16. Position the legs the way you want them to stand. Take one leg and, starting from the middle on the inside, crochet 16 sc around it; continue around to the beginning of the round, crochet 3 ch, join the legs, and finish the round (16 sc around the other leg) = 42 sc

If you end up with more stitches, make decreases until you reach the required number. If you have fewer stitches, make increases in the next round.

Toy Assembly

Crochet amigurumi plush teddy bear

  • Please note that the head will be too large, so you must shape the cheeks with needle sculpting; this will bring the eyes down to the right level.
  • Sew on the arms, ears, muzzle, and tail.
  • Embroider the nose, eyebrows, and whites of the eyes.
  • Decorate.
