Minion Keychain

Free Minion crochet tutorial by Olga Kovaleva (Lelyny Pechenki).

With this pattern, you can crochet a Minion. You can use the toy as a keychain or hanging charm. For this amigurumi, any acrylic, cotton, or cotton blend yarn will work.

You can make a yellow Minion in blue overalls or a purple Minion in black pants.

Materials and tools

• Yarn
• Crochet hook
• Safety eyes
• Toy stuffing
• Keychain hardware
• Needle
• Scissors

Legs (2 pieces)

With black yarn

1. 6 sc in MR
2. (inc, sc) x 3 times

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Arms (2 pieces)

Start with black yarn

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 sc
Change to yellow yarn
3-5. 6 sc
6. (sc, dec) x 2 times

Leave a yarn tail for sewing and stitch the opening closed through both edges.

Body

Start with blue yarn (overalls)

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc
3. (sc, inc) x 6 times
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 times
5. (3 sc, inc) x 6 times
6-7. 30 sc
8. 30 sc in FLO
9. 1 sl st, 12 ch (skip 10 stitches), 8 dc (this is the overalls pocket), 12 ch (skip 10 stitches), 1 sl st

Cut the yarn and hide the tail.

Then take yellow yarn and join it to round 8 (where the pocket is), in the middle of the pocket, then crochet in a spiral:

1-6. 30 sc
7. 28 sc, 2 sl st, change to black yarn
8. 29 sc, 1 sl st, change to yellow yarn
9-10. 30 sc
Sew the arms between body rounds 4 and 5 of the yellow section
11. (3 sc, dec) x 6 times
12. (2 sc, dec) x 6 times
13. (sc, dec) x 6 times
14. 4 dec, 7 ch

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for closing.

Eyes (2 pieces)

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc
Change to gray yarn
3. 12 sc

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Assembly

• Sew the legs to the body
• Attach a chain with a ring to the chain loops and neatly close the opening
• Sew on the eyes
• Embroider the mouth and enjoy your new keychain
