Amigurumi Mighty Eagle crochet pattern

Free crochet tutorial for the Mighty Eagle by Lesya Fomishina @fomishka_toys.

With this pattern, you can crochet an eagle. Any plush yarn works for this bird, plus a 3.5 mm hook for plush yarn and a 2 mm hook for cotton blend yarn.

The finished toy size is about 18 mm.

Materials and tools

  • Himalaya Dolphin Baby plush yarn: 80311-black (half a skein), 80301-white
  • YarnArt Jeans yarn: 35-yellow, 01-white, 90-red (split the strand in half), 53-black
  • Crochet hooks: 2 mm and 3.5 mm
  • Safety eyes 6-8 mm
  • Stitch marker or a contrasting strand
  • Toy stuffing
  • Needle for sewing parts together
  • Scissors

Eye patches (2 pieces)

With white yarn:

Switch to red yarn

If you use safety eyes, insert them now. First attach each eye to an eye patch, then insert into the head. Stuff the head.

Stuff the body. The marker should be exactly in the middle of the back; if it is off to the side, crochet or unravel a few stitches. Then count 12 stitches and in stitch 12 insert the hook and make an sc. Crochet the first leg in the round.

Finish crocheting, pull the opening closed, cut the yarn, and weave in the end. Join a new strand and crochet the second leg the same way.
