Free Gnome crochet tutorial by Natalya Grukhina.
Using this pattern, you can crochet a New Year gnome with long legs. For this amigurumi project, any acrylic yarn, cotton yarn, or cotton blend yarn and a matching crochet hook will work. You can use fluffy yarn for the beard.

Gnome Body
Round 1: With black yarn, ch 2 and join into a ring. Crochet 6 sc (6)
Continue working in rounds.
Round 2: inc x 6 (12)
Round 3: inc, 1 sc x 6 (18)
Round 4: inc, 2 sc x 6 (24)
Round 5: inc, 3 sc x 6 (30)
Round 6: no inc in back loops only (30)
Rounds 7-8: no inc (30)
Rounds 9-12: no inc with elongated loops (30)
Round 13: dec, 3 sc x 6 (24) Stuff the body.

Round 16: dec until the body opening is fully closed. Cut the yarn.
Hat
The hat is crocheted by gradually increasing the number of inc stitches. First, add 1 stitch in every second round, then work inc in each round as one, two, and three increases.
This way, by increasing or decreasing the number of rounds, you can change the shape of the hat as you like.
Round 1: With red yarn, ch 2 and join into a ring. Crochet 6 sc (6 sc). Continue working in rounds.

Nose
Round 1: With pink yarn, ch 2 and join into a ring. Crochet 6 sc (6 sc). Continue working in rounds.
Round 2: inc x 6 (12)
Rounds 3-4: no inc (12 sc). Add stuffing.
Round 5: dec x 6 (6)
Round 6: dec until the nose opening is fully closed.
- Cut the yarn, leaving a 15-20 cm tail for sewing the nose to the body.
- Sew the nose at the level of the last rounds with elongated loops.
- Add stuffing to the hat and sew it to the body.
- You can finish the gnome with long dangling legs.
Legs (2 pieces)
Round 1: With black yarn, ch 7 and crochet: sc in the 2nd ch from hook, 4 sc, 3 sc in one stitch, turn the work clockwise, 4 sc, 1 sc in the first stitch (14)
Round 2: inc, 4 sc, 3 inc, 4 sc, 2 inc (20)
Round 3: 4 sl st, 10 sc, 6 sl st (20)
Round 4: 20 sc in the back loops of the previous round (20)
Round 5: no inc (20 sc). Insert a cardboard sole.
Round 6: 3 sc, (dec, 1 sc) 3 times, 8 sc (17)
Round 7: dec, 1 sc x 6 (11 sc). Stuff the shoe.
Round 8 (partial): dec, 1 sc x 3 (8)
Rounds 9-10: switch to white yarn and crochet with no inc (8)
Rounds 11-12: switch to red yarn and crochet with no inc (8)
Then continue, alternating 2 rounds in white yarn and 2 rounds in red yarn until you reach the desired leg length. It is better to make color changes on the back side of the leg. Do not stuff the legs.
