Funny Ghost

Free Funny Ghost crochet tutorial by Valentina Voskovnyuk @valentinavoskovnyuk.

With this pattern, you can crochet a ghost. Any cotton blend yarn works well for this amigurumi: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others. For decoration, you can cut out small bats from black felt.

The finished toy size is about 20 cm.

Stuff the body. Next, make a frame for the arms: cut a piece of wire equal to the length of two arms plus the body width. Bend loops on both sides and wrap with electrical tape. Shape it using the photo as reference. Insert the wire into the arms and lightly stuff.

Continue crocheting the body; this takes some practice. If you prefer, you can skip the frame, stuff the arms, and simply crochet them in or sew them on.

Crochet in the yarn tails from the arms in round 42, pulling them tight. Also tighten the transition stitches from body to arms well.

Close the opening, secure the yarn, and cut it.

Toy Assembly and Finishing

• When sewing on the eyes and embroidering the face, bring the thread in and out through the bottom of the head base. Secure and cut.
• Place the eyes between rounds 21 and 22. Leave 5 stitches between them for a kind or angry ghost, and 3 stitches for a sad ghost. When attaching the eyes and securing the thread, pull tightly to create slight eye indentations so the eyes sit a little deeper.
• Embroider the nose with several horizontal stitches, smoothing the thread so it lies evenly. On my ghosts, the nose is 2 stitches wide and positioned right below the eyes.
• Choose the nose size as you like.
• Embroider the mouth, eyelashes, and eyebrows.
• Tint the cheeks with soft pastels.
• Sew the head to the body.
• Bend the wire tails in the head and body.
• Decorate as desired.
