Amigurumi crochet Christmas tree

Free Christmas Tree crochet pattern by @crochet.skydash.

With this pattern, you can crochet an amigurumi Christmas tree. Any cotton blend yarn will work, such as Gazzal Baby Cotton, YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, and others. You can decorate the tree with beads, rhinestones, or embroidery.

The finished toy is about 15 cm (5.9 in) tall.

Materials and Tools

  • Gazzal Baby Cotton yarn: 3456 green, 3413 yellow, 3434 brown, 3410 white
  • 1.5 mm crochet hook
  • Fiberfill
  • Heavy cardboard
  • Needle for sewing pieces together
  • Scissors

Stuff the tree with fiberfill.

Tree Trunk

With brown yarn:

43-52. 18 sc — work as many rounds as you like to make the trunk taller or shorter.

Stuff the tree trunk with fiberfill.

Base

With brown yarn:

Bottom Half of the Base

With brown yarn:

1. 6 sc in MR

Place the bottom half of the base on a sheet of heavy cardboard and cut out a circle.

Join the two halves of the base with sl st through the back loops only. When you are halfway around, insert the cardboard circle, then finish joining the edges. This will keep the tree stable.

Star

With white yarn:

1. 10 sc in MR, sl st
2. ch 3, starting in the second ch from the hook: sl st, sc
Continue around: sl st, sc

You should have five points. Sew the star to the top of the tree, then begin decorating the tree.

White Edging

Find the beginning of the first round of unworked loops and join the yarn.

1. sc around (25)
2. sc BLO (25)
3. sc around, catching the unworked loops from the round below

Green Edging

There are three rounds of unworked loops on the tree. Find the first loop and join the green yarn. Ch 2, then work a dc into the same loop. Work one dc into each unworked loop around. At the end, join with a sl st into the chain stitch. Work edging around the other two rounds of unworked loops in the same way.

Yellow Edging

Next, work picots along the rounds of dc. Find the first stitch of the round and join the yarn.

Work the entire round as follows: 3 sc, (ch 3, sl st into the first ch). Without skipping any stitches, repeat in the same way to the end of the round.

Embroider multicolored stitches randomly all over the tree.
