Carrot Rattle amigurumi crochet pattern

A free Carrot Rattle crochet tutorial by Victoria Timofeeva @blue_bunny_toys.

With this pattern, you can crochet a rattle shaped like a bunny-carrot. For this amigurumi project, you can use any cotton blend yarn, such as YarnArt Jeans, Gazzal Baby Cotton, Alize Cotton Gold, and others. You can also use 100% cotton.

Finished toy size: about 12 cm.

Materials and tools

  • YarnArt Jeans yarn (orange, white, and green)
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Embroidery floss for embroidering the eyes and nose
  • Toy stuffing
  • Rattle insert
  • Needle for sewing pieces together
  • Scissors

Pull the opening closed, secure the yarn tail, and hide it. I place a little stuffing in the base of the body, insert the rattle, and then stuff firmly as I continue crocheting.

I crochet the curls as follows: make a chain, then starting from the third chain from the hook, crochet 2 hdc in each chain.

For two pieces, I chain 30. For one piece, I chain 20 (this one will hang forward like bangs).
