Benny Bear

Free Benny Bear crochet tutorial by Darya Saltevskaya @dary_toys.
With this pattern, you can crochet a plush bear wearing a knitted cardigan and hat. Any plush yarn works well for the amigurumi. For the bear's clothes, use any cotton blend yarn. The toy is crocheted, and the cardigan and hat are knitted.
The finished toy is about 20 cm tall.
Materials and Tools
- Himalaya Dolphin Baby plush yarn (for the bear)
- YarnArt Jeans yarn (for embroidering the muzzle)
- Gazzal Baby Cotton yarn (for the cardigan and hat)
- 3-3.5 mm crochet hook
- Circular knitting needles
- 12 mm safety eyes
- 16 mm safety nose
- Toy stuffing
- Stitch markers
- Toy joints or cotter pins: 15 mm for the arms, 20 mm for the legs
- Sewing needle for attaching parts
- Scissors

Benny Bear Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Head
1. 8 sc in MR
2. (1 sc, inc) x 4 times (12)
Place a marker - this is the bottom of the head.
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
4. 5 sc, inc, 6 sc, inc, 5 sc (20)
5. 6 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 4 times, 6 sc (24)
6. (5 sc, inc) x 4 times (28)
7-9. 28 sc, 3 rounds
10. (5 sc, dec) x 4 times (24)
Insert the eyes between rounds 4 and 5, with 4 stitches between the eyes. Insert the nose between rounds 1 and 2.

Stuff the head.

Pull the opening closed.
Muzzle Tightening
Insert the threaded needle at the bottom center of the head at round 6. Bring it out between rounds 4 and 5 on the outer side of the eye, insert it between rounds 3 and 4 near the same eye on the inner side, and bring it back out at the starting point at the bottom of the head. Tighten and tie the thread ends.
Repeat the same steps for the second eye.
Ears (make 2)
2 ch:
Work 7 sc into the 1st stitch.
Turn, 1 turning ch, 7 sc (not in the round, but back across the piece).
Sew on the ears. Embroider the mouth. Mine is embroidered between rounds 2 and 3 down from the magic ring, 2 stitches wide.
Arms (make 2)

Insert the joint and add stuffing only to the lower part of the arm. Pull the opening closed.
Legs (make 2)

Insert the joint between the last two rounds and add stuffing. Pull the opening closed.
Body

Attach the legs to the body with joints between rounds 3 and 4. Add stuffing.

Cardigan
R - raglan increase. Work it as follows: YO, K1, YO. On the wrong-side row, purl the yarn overs through the back loop.
Cast on 26 stitches on circular needles. Do not join in the round; work back-and-forth rows.

2. edge st, K4, R, K2, R, K8, R, K2, R, K4, edge st.
3. Purl row.
4. edge st, K5, R, K4, R, K10, R, K4, R, K5, edge st.
5. Purl row.
6. edge st, K6, R, K6, R, K12, R, K6, R, K6, edge st.
7. Purl row.
8. edge st, K7, R, K8, R, K14, R, K8, R, K7, edge st.
9. Purl row.
10. edge st, K8, R, K10, R, K16, R, K10, R, K8, edge st.
11. Purl row.
12. edge st, K10, place 12 stitches on scrap yarn, K20, place 12 stitches on scrap yarn, K10. Knit the edge stitch, join the work in the round, and continue knitting.
13. In the armholes, make 2 increases in the first round on each side.
Continue knitting to the desired length. Work the last 4 rows in garter stitch. Bind off. Make a button loop and sew on a button, or make ties.
Sleeves
Pick up the 12 stitches that were placed on scrap yarn on the circular needles, then pick up 4 more stitches in the armhole.
Knit in the round to the desired length; mine is 4 rows. Bind off.
Hat
Cast on 48 stitches on circular needles, join in the round, and knit ribbing from the eye level up to the ears.
Next:
K14, bind off 6 stitches, K8, bind off 6 stitches, K14.
Next row:
K14, cast on 6 stitches, K8, cast on 6 stitches, K14.
Continue knitting, trying the hat on until it reaches the desired length. Pull the top of the hat closed and sew on a pom-pom.
