Crochet amigurumi Batman

Free Batman crochet tutorial by Anastasiya Skryaga @anastasiya_skryaga.

With this pattern, you can crochet a plush Batman. Any plush yarn will work for this amigurumi: Himalaya Dolphin Baby or YarnArt Dolce. You can use craft foam or felt for the eyes and logo.

The finished toy is about 40 cm tall.

Materials and Tools

  • Himalaya Dolphin Baby plush yarn: black (311), gray (320), flesh-colored (333), and a little yellow (313)
  • 4 mm crochet hook
  • Craft foam for the eyes and emblem (white, yellow, and black)
  • Toy stuffing
  • Needle for sewing pieces together
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors

Abbreviations

  • MR - magic ring
  • ch - chain stitch
  • sl st - slip stitch
  • sc - single crochet
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • inc - increase (work 2 sc or hdc in 1 stitch)
  • dec - decrease (crochet 2 sc or hdc together)
  • BLO - work sc in the back loops only
  • FLO - work sc in the front loops only

Crochet Amigurumi Batman Pattern

Arms (Make 2)

Start crocheting with black yarn:

1: 2 ch, work 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
2: 6 inc (12)
3-6: 12 sc, change color to gray
7: (4 sc, dec) x 2 (10)
8-16: 10 sc (9 rounds), sl st, and cut the yarn.

Stuff the arm 2/3 full with fiberfill.

Legs (Make 2)

Start crocheting with black yarn:

1: 6 ch, starting in the 2nd ch, crochet around the chain: inc, 3 sc, 3 sc in the last stitch, 4 sc along the other side (12)
2: 2 inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, inc (18)
3: (sc, inc) x 2, 3 sc, (sc, inc) x 3, 4 sc, inc (24)
4-5: 24 sc + 3 sc at the end of round 5 to shift the round
6: 7 sc, (sc, dec) x 3, 8 sc (21)
7: 7 sc, 3 dec, 8 sc (18)

17: 12 sc. Cut the yarn on the first leg, but not on the second.

Body

From the second leg, make 4 ch and join to the first leg so that both legs face the same direction, then crochet:

Stuff the legs firmly with fiberfill, and stuff the body as you crochet.

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew the ears between rounds 9 and 12 of the head so that they hold their shape and do not flop down.

Cape

Crochet with black yarn in turning rows. At the beginning of the chain, leave a long yarn tail for sewing.

Cut and hide the yarn tail.

Toy Assembly

  • Sew the cape between the head and body using the yarn tail we left at the beginning.
  • Embroider the nose as a triangle with black plush yarn, as shown in the photo.
  • Crochet around the legs in round 10 through FLO: 12 sc, then hide the yarn tail.
  • Cut the eyes from white craft foam, and cut the emblem from yellow and black craft foam. I found examples online, drew one on paper, cut it out, and used that shape to cut the craft foam. Glue the pieces on with hot glue.

That's it, our Batman is ready!
