Ch 8:
Rows 1–5: starting in the second chain from the hook, work along one side of the chain and then along the other side: 14 sc
Row 6: work 8 sc, turn, and work Row 7 back in the opposite direction as a turning row
Row 8: 3 sc, ch 3, skip two stitches in the previous row, 3 sc
Row 9: 8 sc
Now work slip stitches down the side of the flap, ch 38, and attach the chain to the other side at the base of the flap with slip stitches. Then work slip stitches up the flap, fasten off, and cut the yarn.
Now sew on the button. Place it approximately in the center of Row 4 so that it fits easily through the buttonhole. Your crocheted purse is ready!
