Wizard Cat

Free Wizard Cat crochet tutorial by Olga Khokhlova @petit_cutie.
With this pattern, you can crochet a cat in a hat and cape for Halloween. For this amigurumi project, you can use any cotton blend yarn or acrylic yarn: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others.
Materials and Tools
- YarnArt Jeans yarn
- 2.25-2.5 mm crochet hook
- 10 mm safety eyes
- Synthetic poly filling
- Needle for sewing parts together

Wizard Cat Crochet Pattern
Head
1: 9 ch, from the second stitch from hook: 3 sc, 6 sc along the chain, 3 sc in one stitch, 6 sc (18)
2: (3 inc, 6 sc) x 2 (24)
3-5: 24 sc in each round (3 rounds)
6: 3 sc, 3 sc in ONE stitch, 11 sc, 3 sc in ONE stitch, 8 sc (28)
7-10: 28 sc in each round (4 rounds)
11: 3 sc, double dec (work 3 sc together), 11 sc, double dec, 8 sc (24)
12: (3 dec, 6 sc) x 2 (18)
13: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Make a sl st, fasten off, and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the piece.
Ears (2 pieces)
1: 2 ch, inc in second stitch from hook, ch, turn
2: inc x 2, ch, turn
3: inc, 2 sc, inc, ch, turn
4: 6 sc
Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing, and sew the ears to the head.
Muzzle
In gray yarn:
8 sc in MR
Make a sl st, fasten off, and cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing. Embroider the nose and mouth.
Legs (2 pieces)
1: 7 sc in MR
2-6: 7 sc (5 rounds)
For the first leg, fasten off and cut the yarn, hide the tail. For the second leg, do not cut the yarn; make 5 ch and join to the first leg with a sl st. Lightly stuff the legs.
Body
7: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
8-13: 30 sc in each round (6 rounds)
14: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
15-17: 24 sc (3 rounds)
18: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
19-25: 18 sc (7 rounds)

Fasten off and cut the yarn, hide the tail, stuff the piece. Sew the head to the body.
Paws (2 pieces)
1: 8 sc in MR
2-3: 8 sc in each round (2 rounds)
4: 6 sc, dec (7)
Stuff this part of the paw.
5-14: 7 sc in each round (10 rounds)
Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.
Tail
1: 6 sc in MR

Hat
In purple yarn:

Make a sl st, fasten off, and hide the tail.
Around round 9, fold and tack the hat so the tip is slightly tilted.

Cape
Crochet in half double crochet stitches. At the end of each row, make one turning chain.

4-6: 22 hdc (3 rows)
7: inc, 20 hdc, inc (24)

Without cutting the yarn, make a ch and work sc around the cape edges; in the corners, crochet 2 sc. Fasten off and cut the yarn, hide the tail.
Make ties: chain 40 and insert the ends into the edges of the upper part of the cape, then tie them together.
