Amigurumi Crochet Triceratops

Free Triceratops crochet pattern by Halime Özel @handmade_by_halime.

With this pattern, you can crochet an amigurumi Triceratops dinosaur. Any acrylic, cotton, or cotton-blend yarn and a matching crochet hook will work. The author recommends using 100% cotton yarn.

Head

Use the main color yarn.

Row 8: Fold the piece: join the first 12 sc and the last 12 sc, as shown in the picture on the right. Then crochet (5 hdc, hdc - inc) x 6 (54). Sl st in the next stitch. Fasten off and hide the yarn tail. Also secure the tail left from the ch stitches. Change color.
Row 9: (2 sc, make 2 ch, 1 sl st in the 2nd ch from hook) repeat in every stitch. You should get 21 "spikes". (You will crochet spikes only into the hdc stitches from Row 8. Skip sc stitches.) Sl st into the same base stitch, fasten off, and hide the yarn tail. Lightly stuff the piece.

Assembly

Sew the large horn to the tip of the nose. Sew the small horns to each side of the head between Rows 3 and 4. Sew the cheeks to each side of the head between Rows 6 and 7.

Embroider the eyes with black thread on the sides of the head. Sew the front body part to the middle of the back of the head (where you stuffed it) and stitch around the neck. Use the photo to position everything correctly. Sew the legs to the bottom of the body. The legs are attached between Rows 19-22 and Rows 26-29. Sew one large and one small spot to the body, and two more on the other side. On the author's toy, the spots are placed around Rows 17-21 and 23-28.
