Tiger Pencil Holder

Free crochet tutorial for a Tiger Pencil Holder by Olesya Oberman @olesiaoberman_igruschki.
With this pattern, you can crochet a stationery organizer: a tiger-shaped pencil holder. Any plush yarn will work for this amigurumi project: YarnArt Dolce, Himalaya Dolphin Baby, or similar yarns. A half-liter jar or a glass can be used as the base for the crocheted pencil holder.
Materials and Tools
- YarnArt Dolce plush yarn: orange, white, black
- Alize Softy yarn: black and white for embroidering the stripes
- YarnArt Jeans yarn: brown for the nose, green and red for the lettering
- 2 mm and 3.5 mm crochet hooks
- Knitting needles
- 10 mm safety eyes
- Toy stuffing
- 0.5 L jar
- Glue
- Needle for sewing pieces together
- Scissors

Crochet Amigurumi Tiger Pencil Holder Pattern
Arms (make 2)
Rnd 1. 6 sc in MR (6)
Rnd 2. 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3. 12 sc (12)

Rnd 9. 8 sc, 2 offset stitches
Stuff the arm halfway. Fold the piece in half and crochet 4 sc through both edges. Fasten off, cut the yarn, and hide the tail.
Tail
Start crocheting with orange yarn.
Rnd 1. 5 sc in MR (5)
Rnds 2-3. (2 rounds) 5 sc
Rnd 4. 5 sc with black yarn
Work 12 rounds for the tail in total, alternating two rounds in orange and one round in black. Do not stuff the piece. Fold it in half and crochet 3 sc through both edges. Fasten off, cut the yarn, and hide the tail.
Muzzle
Rnd 1. Ch 6, starting in the second chain from the hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in one stitch, along the other side: 3 sc, inc (12)
Rnd 2. inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc (18)
Rnd 3. 18 sc (18)
Fasten off, cut the yarn, and hide the tail.
Nose
Ch 5, starting in the second chain from the hook: 3 sc, 3 sc in one stitch, 2 sc, inc (10)
Leave a longer yarn tail for sewing on the nose and embroidering the eyebrows.
Ears (2 orange pieces and 2 white pieces)
Rnd 1. 5 sc in MR (5)
Rnd 2. Turn your work and crochet 5 inc (10)
Fasten off, cut the yarn, and hide the tail. Place two pieces together and crochet around them with single crochet using black yarn (the right side is white).
Lettering
Cast on 27 stitches with knitting needles.
Row 1. 27 knit stitches
Rows 2-8. Work in stockinette stitch and knit the lettering
Row 9. 27 purl stitches
Bind off the stitches, then crochet around the piece with single crochet, working 3 sc into each corner. Leave a longer yarn tail for sewing.

Assembly

- Sew on the arms, ears, tail, and muzzle.
- When sewing on the lettering along the sides, catch a bit of the arms too so they do not dangle.
- Next, sew on the nose and embroider the eyebrows with the same yarn tail.
- Glue on the eyes.
- Embroider stripes on the body and arms with black and white yarn.
