Amigurumi tiger cubs crochet pattern

With this pattern, you can crochet tiger cubs: a tiger boy and a tiger girl. Any cotton blend yarn works for this amigurumi: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others.

Finished toy size is about 12 cm.

  • 2.25 mm crochet hook
  • 6 mm safety eyes
  • Fiberfill

Head

Round 1: Crochet 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12 sc)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18 sc)
Round 4: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 5 times, 1 sc (24 sc)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times (30 sc)
Round 6: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5 times, 2 sc (36 sc)
Rounds 7-12: 36 sc
Round 13: 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) x 5 times, 2 sc (30 sc)
Round 14: (3 sc, dec) x 6 times (24 sc)
Round 15: 1 sc, dec, (2 sc, dec) x 6 times, 1 sc (18 sc)
Round 16: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12 sc)

Stuff the piece firmly. I used 6 mm beads for the eyes. I sew them in at round 10.

Ears (make 2)

Round 1: Crochet 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12 sc)

Leave a tail for sewing.

Muzzle

Round 1: Chain 6.
From the second chain from hook: 4 sc, 3 sc in one stitch, 3 sc on the other side, 2 sc in the last stitch (12 sc)
Round 2: inc, 3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc (18 sc)
Round 3: 1 sc, inc, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2 (24 sc)

Leave a tail for sewing.

Arms (make 2)

If you are crocheting a tiger cub in clothes, change color in round 5.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12 sc)
Round 3: 12 sc
Round 4: (2 sc, dec) x 3 times (9 sc)
Rounds 5-8: 9 sc
Round 9: dec, 7 sc (8 sc)
Rounds 10-11: 8 sc

Do not stuff the piece too tightly, only the lower part is enough so the arms do not stick out too much. Fold in half and crochet 4 sc through both loops. Fasten off and cut yarn.

If you plan to sew the arms on, leave a yarn tail for sewing. I crochet the arms in.

Tail

Round 1: Orange: 7 sc in MR
Round 2: 7 sc
Round 3: Black: 7 sc
Rounds 4-5: Orange: 7 sc
Round 6: Black: 7 sc
Rounds 7-8: Orange: 7 sc
Round 9: Black: 7 sc
Rounds 10-11: Orange: 7 sc
Round 12: Black: 7 sc
Rounds 13-14: Orange: 7 sc

Fold in half, crochet sc through both layers. Leave a tail for sewing. I crochet the tail in.

Legs (make 2)

Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12 sc)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18 sc)
Round 4: 18 sc in back loops only
Round 5: 18 sc
Round 6: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12 sc)
Rounds 7-10: 12 sc

Cut yarn on the first leg. Crochet the second leg the same as the first and continue without cutting yarn. From the second leg chain 3 and join to the first leg.

Round 11: Then crochet: 12 sc on the leg, 3 sc along the chain, 12 sc on the leg, 3 sc along the chain (30 sc)
Round 12: 30 sc
Round 13: 27 sc, 3 sc together with the tail (if crocheting it in)
Rounds 14-15: 30 sc
Round 16: (3 sc, dec) x 6 times (24 sc)
Round 17: 24 sc
Rounds 18-20: 24 sc
Round 21: (2 sc, dec) x 6 times (18 sc)
Round 22: 18 sc
Round 23: Crochet in the arms: 3 sc, 4 sc together with arm, 5 sc, 3 sc together with arm, 2 sc (18 sc)
Round 24: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12 sc)

For tiger cub in a dress

In round 15, change yarn to dress color and crochet in back loops only.
Then continue according to the pattern.

Return to round 15 and crochet the skirt in front loops: inc in each stitch - 60 sc
Then crochet three rounds of 60 sc.

For tiger cub in pants

Change to pants color in round 7.
Change to sweater color in round 16.

Bow

Crochet in MR:
(1 sc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 sc) x 2 times
Tighten the ring. Leave a long tail, wrap around the center, tie, and sew on.
