Amigurumi tiger with a scarf crochet

Free Tiger crochet tutorial by Ludmila Babenko @camomile.cloud.

With this pattern, you can crochet a tiger cub with a scarf. Any cotton blend yarn works well for this amigurumi project: YarnArt Jeans, Gazzal Baby Cotton, Alize Cotton Gold, and others.

Finished toy size is about 13 cm.

Materials and Tools

  • YarnArt Jeans yarn (orange 23, black 53, light green 79, pink 74)
  • Alize Softy yarn (white 92, for the belly) or YarnArt Jeans (white 62)
  • 2 mm crochet hook
  • 5 mm safety eyes
  • Thread for embroidering the muzzle
  • Toy stuffing

All parts except the ball are crocheted in a spiral.

Head

With orange yarn

Stuff the piece as you go.

Tail

Do not stuff this piece.

Next, crochet 6 sc in each round.
Crochet round 4 with black yarn.
Rounds 5 and 6 - with orange yarn.
Round 7 - with black yarn.
Rounds 8 and 9 - with orange yarn.
Round 10 - with black yarn.

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Arms (make 2)

With orange yarn

Pull the opening closed and leave a yarn tail for sewing. Add stuffing.

Cheeks (make 2)

With pink yarn

1. 8 sc in MR

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Scarf (with green yarn)

Chain 61. Starting in the second ch from the hook, crochet 60 sc, fasten off, and hide the yarn tail.

Toy Assembly

  • Sew the ears between rounds 6 and 8 of the head.
  • Embroider the nose and mouth with black YarnArt Jeans yarn (my nose came out 3 rounds tall and 5 sc wide).
  • Embroider the eyebrows one round above the eyes.
  • Sew on the cheeks.
  • Embroider dots near the nose with French knots (split the Jeans yarn and use 2 strands).
  • Embroider black stripes with black Jeans yarn on the sides of the head and on top of the head using backstitch (between rounds 10 and 11, 12 and 13, 14 and 15 of the head).
  • Sew the head to the body.
  • Embroider stripes on the back and sides of the body (between rounds 6 and 7, 8 and 9, 10 and 11 of the body).
  • Sew on the belly.
  • Sew the arms between rounds 12 and 13 of the body.
  • Sew the tail to round 5 of the body.
  • Tie the scarf and kiss the nose!
