Thread Jointing

  • Legs: count 9 rounds up from the bottom and insert the needle between rounds 9 and 10.
  • Arms: count 6 rounds down from the top and insert the needle between rounds 6 and 7.

Skirt

Take 1 m of nylon ribbon and carefully singe the edges so they do not fray. Thread 70 cm of satin ribbon onto a needle.

Step back 3 mm from the lower edge and gather the nylon ribbon onto the needle, making punctures about every 5 mm. Leave a long end of satin ribbon on both sides of the skirt for tying.

Try the skirt on the bear and make securing knots in the satin ribbon on both sides of the nylon ribbon so the skirt always stays the same width.

Rose

Mark the 1.5 m length of nylon ribbon with dots for needle punctures down the center along the full length: first make one mark every 3.5 cm, then every 2.5 cm. Use a long, sharp needle without thread.

Rose made from nylon ribbon

Slide the gathered "accordion" toward the eye of the needle. Thread the end of the nylon ribbon that is near the eye through the eye and start twisting the needle, shaping the rose as you go. Then twist the needle slightly in the opposite direction and pull the end of the nylon ribbon through all the holes as you remove the needle.
