Plush Teddy Bear Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Arms (make 2)

Crochet in a spiral with the main color yarn and a 4 mm hook (or any hook size that is comfortable for you).

Round 1: 5 sc in MR (5)
Round 2: 5 inc (10)
Rounds 3-4: 10 sc (10)
Round 5: 3 dec, 4 sc (7)
Rounds 6-10: 7 sc

Stuff only the hand. Make 1 more sc to shift, fold the arm in half, and crochet 3 sc through both layers. Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Legs (make 2)

Chain 5 ch.

Round 1: inc, 2 sc, 3 sc in the last chain, 3 sc on the other side (10)
Round 2: 2 inc, 2 sc, 3 inc, 2 sc, inc (16)
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 2, 2 sc, (sc, inc) x 3, 3 sc, inc (22)
Round 4: 22 sc (22) + 2-3 more sc to move to the center of the back of the leg (new marker).
Round 5: 5 sc, 6 dec, 5 sc (16)
Round 6: 3 sc, 5 dec, 3 sc (11)
Rounds 7-9: 11 sc (11)

On the right leg, make 3-4 more sc to shift to the middle of the side surface. Fasten off, cut the yarn, and stuff.

On the left leg, do not cut the yarn. Continue crocheting the body from there.

Body and Head

Crocheted as one piece. Stuff as you go.

Round 1: Start on the left leg: 10 sc, ch; on the right leg (join where you finished crocheting) 11 sc, 3 sc in ch, and 1 sc on the left leg (25).

Place the beginning-of-round marker here. No need to align it.

Round 2: 10 sc, 2 sc in ch, 15 sc (27)
Round 3: (2 sc, inc) x 9 (36)
Round 4: 8 sc, (sc, inc) x 6, 16 sc (42)
Make sure the increases land right on the tummy.
Rounds 5-7: 42 sc (42)
Round 8: 8 sc, (sc, dec) x 6, 16 sc (36)
Round 9: 36 sc (36)
Round 10: 9 sc, 6 dec, 15 sc (30)
Round 11: 30 sc (30)
Round 12: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
Round 13: 24 sc (24)
Round 14: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Round 15: 3 sc, 3 sc together with the left arm, 5 sc on the body only, 3 sc together with the right arm, 4 sc on the body only (18)

Check that the arms are in the right places. Everyone has different stitch tension, so you may need to start crocheting together with the arm 1-2 sc earlier or later.

Round 16: 18 sc (18)
Round 17: 18 inc (36)
Round 18: (5 sc, inc) x 6 (42)
Rounds 19-25: 42 sc (42) - 7 rounds
Round 26: (5 sc, dec) x 6 (36)
Round 27: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)
Round 28: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
Round 29: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Round 30: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Round 31: 6 dec (6)

Fasten off and close the opening.

About safety eyes: I always attach the eyes afterward, using Moment glue, because it strongly affects the look of the muzzle. In general, the eyes go between rounds 22 and 23, about 4-5 sc apart. On my bears, if you look closely, the spacing differs: the blue bear has wider eye spacing (about 5 sc), and the pink bear has narrower spacing (about 3-4 sc).

Toy Assembly

  • Mark with pins, then sew on the tail, ears, and muzzle.
  • Cut circles from felt, slightly larger in diameter than the selected eyes.
  • Find the eye and nose positions and glue them in place.
  • Embroider the mouth, eyebrows, and eyelashes with black or brown thread (optional). If there is no suitable safety nose, you can embroider one. Glue the eyelashes.
  • You can crochet a scarf, sweater, or dress.

And from here, everything depends on your imagination!
