Knitting Pattern for the Sweet Couple Amigurumi Kitties
Body
Use dark gray Nako Paris yarn and 2 mm needles. Knit in the round on 5 needles.
Cast on 40 stitches (+1 stitch for joining in the round), with 10 stitches on each needle.

10-11. K44
Continue with dark gray yarn (you can cut the light yarn)
12-31. K44
Bind off all stitches. Fold the piece in half, positioning the cast-on tail at the center back. Sew the bottom closed with thin matching thread. I used Gazzal Baby Cotton yarn in color 3430, separated it into individual strands, and sewed with two strands held together. Stuff lightly. Join yarn at the top edge and close it with sc stitches (or simply sew it through the half-loops). Measure 2.5 cm (1 in) from each corner along the top edge and down the side for the ears. Join these points with backstitch to shape the ears. Push the stuffing out of the ears so they remain empty.

Nose
Use Pekhorka Detskaya Novinka yarn in color 180 Light Begonia and 1.8 mm needles. Cast on 8 stitches (6 + 2 edge sts). Do not include the edge stitches in the stitch counts. Slip the first stitch and purl the last stitch.

Leave a tail for sewing and cut the yarn. Thread it through the remaining stitches, pull tight, and secure. Add a small amount of stuffing.
Lower Paws (make 2)
Use white Nako Paris yarn and 2 mm needles.
Cast 8 stitches onto a magic ring. You can do this with knitting needles or a crochet hook; I used a crochet hook. Distribute the stitches across 4 needles, 2 stitches per needle.
1. (K1, inc) x 4 (12)
2. (K1, inc) x 6 (18)
3. (K2, inc) x 6 (24)
4-7. K24 (while working Round 4, redistribute the stitches so there are 6 on each needle).

9. (K9, K2tog) x 2 (20)
10. (K8, K2tog) x 2 (18)
11. (K7, K2tog) x 2 (16)
12. (K2, K2tog) x 4 (12)
On this round, I switched to 2 holding needles and used a third needle to knit
13. (K2tog) x 6 (6)
Add stuffing. Join the dark gray yarn (you can cut the white yarn) and K6, transferring the stitches onto one needle as you work. Tuck the gray (or beige) yarn tail inside the paw right away, but leave the white tail out for now. Work a 5 cm (2 in) I-cord and bind off. Leave a tail for sewing and cut the yarn. Use the white tail to close the opening, then tuck it inside the paw as well. Embroider the toes with Pekhorka Detskaya Novinka yarn in color 02 Black.

Add stuffing. Join the dark gray yarn (you can cut the white yarn) and K6, transferring the stitches onto one needle as you work. Tuck the gray (or beige) yarn tail inside the paw right away, but leave the white tail out for now. Work a 7 cm (2.8 in) I-cord and bind off. Leave a tail for sewing and cut the yarn. Use the white tail to close the opening, then tuck it inside the paw as well. Embroider the toes with Pekhorka Detskaya Novinka yarn in color 02 Black.
Tail
Use white Nako Paris yarn and 2 mm needles. Cast 6 stitches onto a magic ring. You can do this with knitting needles or a crochet hook; I used a crochet hook. Distribute the stitches across 3 needles, 2 stitches per needle.
1. inc 6 (12)
2-5. K12
6. (K2tog) x 6 (6) On this round, I switched to 2 holding needles and used a third needle to knit
Join the dark gray yarn (you can cut the white yarn) and K6, transferring the stitches onto one needle as you work. Tuck the gray (or beige) yarn tail inside the tail right away, but leave the white tail out for now. Work a 9 cm (3.5 in) I-cord and bind off. Leave a tail for sewing and cut the yarn. Use the white tail to close the opening, then tuck it inside.
Assembly and Finishing

- You can brush the body, paws, and tail before assembly, or brush them after finishing. I brushed them first because I find that easier. I brushed the gray boy, but not the beige girl (except for her tail, ears, and bangs).
- Sew the lower paws to the bottom seam.
- Sew the upper paws just below the lower edge of each ear.
- Sew the nose roughly to the center of the body, with its cast-on edge at the bottom.
- Attach the 5 mm screw-back eyes and secure them with a drop of glue.
- Use black Iris yarn to embroider the mouth, eyebrows, and whiskers. Add eyelashes to the girl. You can embroider the whites of the eyes with white yarn.
- Sew on the bow tie (make the girl the same way, but use light-colored yarn).
Bow for the Girl

Use Pekhorka Detskaya Novinka yarn in color 06 Red and 2 mm needles.
Cast on 8 stitches (6 + 2 edge sts). Do not include the edge stitches in the stitch counts. Slip the first stitch and purl the last stitch.
1-22. K6
Bind off all stitches, secure the yarn tails, and trim them. Cinch the center and wrap it with yarn to form a bow. Sew the bow to one ear. Sew on a heart-shaped button. Your Sweet Couple is ready!
