Sunny Bunny

A free crochet tutorial for Sunny Bunny by Olga Zimina @igrushki_kukolki.

Using this pattern, you can crochet a bunny. Any cotton blend yarn will work for this amigurumi project. The muzzle and belly are crocheted with fluffy Alize Softy or Adelia Sofia yarn.

Materials and tools

• YarnArt Jeans yarn: cream and light yellow
• Yellow Alize Softy yarn (for the belly and tail)
• 1.75 mm crochet hook
• 10 mm safety eyes
• Safety nose
• Toy stuffing
• Satin ribbon

Place a yellow piece against a cream piece and crochet them together around the edges.

Muzzle

Sew the muzzle pieces to the head. Glue the nose between the cheeks. Embroider the mouth on the muzzle with black thread.

Stuff the legs. On the second leg, leave the final stitch unworked so the legs line up evenly when joined. After finishing the second leg, do not cut the yarn; continue crocheting the body.

Stuff the body and sew the head to it. Crochet a circle with Softy yarn and sew it to the belly. Use the same yarn to embroider the sun rays.

Flatten each arm and crochet through both layers with 7 sc. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the arms to the body.

Finishing and assembly

Make a pom-pom with Alize Softy yarn. If you do not have a pom-pom maker, you can use the classic cardboard method. Cut two circles of the desired diameter from cardboard and make a hole in the center of each one.

Thread the yarn through a needle and wrap it around the cardboard forms, passing the needle through the center hole. Once you have wrapped enough yarn, separate the cardboard circles slightly, cut the wrapped strands around the outer edge, and tie a tight knot between the circles. Sew all the pieces together and attach the pom-pom tail to the back of the bunny.
