Squid Game Player

Free crochet tutorial for Player 456 from "Squid Game" by @thread.yarns.

With this pattern, you can crochet Seong Gi-hun from the series "Squid Game". Any cotton or cotton blend yarn and a matching crochet hook will work for this amigurumi.

Materials and tools

• Yarn: beige, black, white, and turquoise
• 3 mm crochet hook
• Safety eyes
• Toy stuffing
• Needle for sewing pieces together
• Scissors

• ch - chain stitch
• sl st - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease
• (...) x n - repeat n times

Legs (make 2)

First leg:

Work in the round using white yarn:

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: inc around (12)
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: work in the back loops only, 1 sc in each stitch
Round 5: 6 sc, 3 dec, 6 sc (15)
Change to turquoise yarn:
Rounds 6-11: sc in each stitch

Fasten off and hide the yarn tail.

Second leg:

Repeat Rounds 1-11 from the first leg. Then work 4 sc. Join with sc to the 4th stitch from the last stitch of the first leg. Continue crocheting the body.

Body

Continue working from the joined legs. Work in the round.

Round 1: work sc to join, then crochet 14 sc on the first leg and 15 sc on the second leg (30)
Rounds 2-3: sc in each stitch
Change to white yarn:
Round 4: work in the back loops only, sc in each stitch
Rounds 5-6: sc in each stitch
Round 7: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
Rounds 8-9: sc in each stitch
Round 10: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Round 11: sc in each stitch, change to turquoise yarn
Round 12: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Fasten off and embroider the numbers on the body.

Jacket

Work back and forth, making 1 ch and turning at the end of each row. Use turquoise yarn:

Row 1: 11 ch, starting in the 2nd chain from the hook work 10 sc (10)
Row 2: in the front loops only: (4 sc, 2 inc, 4 sc) (12)
Row 3: (1 sc, inc) x 3, (inc, 1 sc) x 3 (18)
Row 4: sc in each stitch
Row 5: (2 sc, inc) x 3, (inc, 2 sc) x 3 (24)
Rows 6-7: sc in each stitch

Do not fasten off. Work sc around the edges, then sl st into the front loops of Row 1, as shown in the photo.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Arms (make 2)

Work in the round using beige yarn:

Sl st into the front loops of Round 1
Rounds 3-4: sc in each stitch
Change to turquoise yarn:
Rounds 5-10: sc in each stitch
Round 11: (sc, dec) x 3 (6)
Round 12: fold the top together, 2 sc.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. You can start fitting the pieces and sewing the toy parts together. The first row of the jacket is used for sewing it to the neck. Sew the arms to the body after attaching the jacket.
