Snowflakes and Bells

Free Snowflakes and Bells crochet tutorial by Kristina Zakordonets.

With this pattern, you can crochet New Year bells and snowflakes. For these ornaments, any cotton or cotton blend yarn and a matching crochet hook will work.

Snowflake diameter: 9 cm. Bell diameter: 4 cm.

Materials and Tools

• Yarn (75 g / 190 m)
• 2 mm crochet hook (for snowflakes) and 2.5 mm crochet hook (for bells)
• Cord
• Beads
• Scissors

• MR - magic ring
• ch - chain stitch
• sc - single crochet
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease
• (...) x n - repeat n times

Snowflake Crochet Pattern

Bell Crochet Pattern

1. 6 sc in MR
2. Work 2 sc in each stitch = 12 stitches.
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 = 18 stitches.
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 = 24 stitches.
5. Round 13: work 24 stitches (9 rounds).
14. (3 sc, inc) x 6 = 30 stitches.
15. 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc = 36 stitches.

Edge the bell with sc, inserting the hook into each stitch one row below = 36 stitches.

With metallic embroidery floss, crochet two cords in chain stitches, about 21 cm each. Thread one cord end through a gold bead and tie a knot. Pass the other end through the center of the bell from the inside and tie a securing knot at the base on the inside.

Repeat the same steps for the second bell.

Join both bells and tie both cords into a bow.
