Stuff it, but do not close the opening yet. We will pull the yarn tails from sewing the eyes through it. After all faces are finished, pull the opening closed, fasten off the yarn, and cut it.
Smiley "smile"
For this one, you will need:
- ball,
- two eyes,
- a little yarn for embroidering the smile.
Instead of safety eyes, I used two 4 mm beads. Sew them between rounds 5 and 6, 4 sc apart. Then embroider the smile with one stitch so it does not crease. My upper smile corners are between rounds 7 and 8. After embroidering the smile and sewing on the eyes, pull the yarn tails through the opening and secure them, then you can close the opening.
Since we embroidered the smile as one curved stitch, I add glue along the lower edge of the smile so it stays in place.
That is it, our "Smile" smiley is ready. You can insert any cord into it and get a keychain.
Smiley "hearts"
For this one, you will need:
- ball,
- two crocheted hearts,
- a little yarn for embroidering the smile.
Hearts
Chain 4 and work into the first ch: 3 dc, 1 tr, 3 dc, 3 ch, sl st.
Fasten off the yarn and leave a tail for sewing. I find it easier to glue, so I cut the yarn tail off completely. Sew or glue the hearts between rounds 3 and 7, 2-3 sc apart. Then embroider the smile exactly the same way as on the first smiley. The "hearts" smiley is ready!

Smiley "winking"
For this one, you will need:
- ball,
- a little yarn for embroidering the smile,
- for the eye, I used a half-bead (you can use a regular bead too).
Glue the eye between rounds 4 and 6. Embroider the second squinting eye with one stitch (I also add a little glue along the edge). Then embroider the smile exactly the same way as on the previous smileys.
Tongue
Chain 5 and make 3 dc starting from the third ch. The tongue is ready. You can sew or glue it on. The "winking" smiley is ready!
