Sheep Keychains

A free tutorial for crocheting Sheep Keychains by Marusya Gerashchenko.
With this pattern, you can crochet a small sheep keychain. For this amigurumi project, use fluffy Alize Softy yarn (head and body) and Nako Bambino wool-acrylic yarn (muzzle and legs). This cute accessory can decorate a backpack, handbag, or phone, and it will definitely help your keys stand out inside your bag.
Working with fluffy yarn is not easy, so you should already feel confident with this type of yarn. Stitch markers can help.

Amigurumi Sheep Keychain Crochet Pattern
Head
Start with smooth yarn.
Row 1: 4 ch, 2 sc in the second chain from the hook, 1 sc, 3 sc in the last chain. Then work along the other side of the chain: 1 sc, 1 sc in the first chain (8)
Row 2: (inc) x 2 times, 1 sc, (inc) x 3 times, 1 sc, inc (14)
Row 3: (1 sc, inc) x 2 times, 1 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 3 times, 2 sc, inc (20)
Row 4: (3 sc, inc, 5 sc, inc) x 2 times (24)
Rows 5-7: 24 sc
Row 8: (2 sc, dec) x 6 times (18)
Row 9: 18 sc
Row 10: (2 sc, inc) x 6 times (24)
Cut the smooth yarn and tie in the fluffy yarn.
Rows 11-12: 24 sc
Row 13: (2 sc, dec) x 6 times (18)
Row 14: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12)
Now stuff the head with fiberfill. Even out the stuffing inside, shape the piece, and form a neat muzzle.
Row 15: dec until the opening is closed
Cut the yarn and hide the tail.

Legs + Body
Crochet first with smooth yarn, then with fluffy yarn:
Row 1: 6 sc in MR or in a chain stitch
Row 2: (inc) x 6 times (12)
Row 3: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 3 times, sc (16)
Row 4: 1 sc, inc x 2 times, (2 sc, inc x 2 times) x 3 times, sc (24)
Because of the increases in the corners, the piece should become square-shaped. You can even pull the corners slightly to make it look more like a square.
Row 5: 24 sc in the back loop only of the previous row
Rows 6-7: 24 sc
Cut the smooth yarn and tie in the fluffy yarn.
Row 8: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times (30)
Row 9: (4 sc, inc) x 6 times (36)
Row 10: 36 sc
Row 11: (4 sc, dec) x 6 times (30)
Row 12: (3 sc, dec) x 6 times (24)
Row 13: (2 sc, dec) x 6 times (18)
Row 14: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12), stuff the piece with fiberfill.
Row 15: dec until the opening is closed
Fasten off, cut the yarn, and hide the tail.
Ears (2 pieces)
Use smooth yarn.
Row 1: 4 sc in MR or in a chain stitch
Do not join into a round! Turn your work
Row 2: inc, (2 dc in the next stitch) x 2 times, inc
Cut the yarn, fold the edge of the ear in half, and sew.
Assembly and Finishing
At the narrowest part of the muzzle, make a small tightening for the eye area (with one stitch, catching 2-3 sc). Bring the yarn down to the base of the head.
Using the same yarn, shape the nostrils (symmetrically, around row 4 from the start) and the mouth with tightening stitches. Then you can lightly tint them with soft pastels, eyeshadow, or a pencil. Instead of tightening the nose, you can embroider it with contrasting thread in a Y shape.

At the tightening points, sew on bead eyes with black thread. Use the same thread to embroider the eyebrows.
Sew the ears onto the fluffy part of the head around eye level so they "look" to the sides or downward.
Shape the sheep's legs with tightening stitches. Bring the yarn out from the ring of row 1, insert it at the border between smooth and fluffy yarn, and bring it out again through the ring, making one tightening stitch. Repeat three more times. The tightening lines should form a cross and pass through the center of each side of the square we formed at the start of the body.
Secure the yarn and bring it out where the sheep's back side will be. Using the same yarn there, crochet 5-6 chain stitches and sew that chain into a hanging loop.
Sew the head firmly to the body at the angle you like best.
Decorate the sheep and attach a lobster clasp to the hanging loop. Done!
