Pumpkin basket amigurumi crochet pattern
Basket
Crochet the basket itself. It is worked sideways.
Make a chain of 14 ch + 1 turning chain. Work Row 1 into the back bump so the top "V" loops remain visible.
Row 1: 1 sl st, 4 sc, 2 hdc, 7 dc
All following rows are worked in back loop only. Work sl st over sl st, sc over sc, hdc over hdc:
Row 2: 2 ch (these count as the first dc), 6 dc, 2 hdc, 4 sc, 1 sl st
Row 3: 1 turning chain, 1 sl st, 4 sc, 2 hdc, 7 dc
Row 4: 2 ch, 6 dc, 2 hdc, 4 sc, 1 sl st
Work 26 rows total; you should get 13 "ridges."
Leave a longer tail, pull tight, and sew the basket closed. Steam it to set and shape it.
Lid
9 ch + 1 turning chain
Row 1: also work in the back bump: 1 sl st, 4 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc
Row 2: 2 turning chain, 1 dc, 2 hdc, 4 sc, 1 sl st
Row 3: 1 turning chain, 1 sl st, 4 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc
Row 4: 2 turning chain, 1 dc, 2 hdc, 4 sc, 1 sl st
Also work 26 rows total. Pull closed loosely; I left an opening about 2.5 cm. Sew closed.

Stem
Work 5 sc in MR and crochet in a spiral for 4-5 rows.
For this part, adjust to your taste: I worked sc in back loop only. Then make the stem wider: work increases in every other stitch until there are 13 sc in the row.
13 because each stitch will be sewn to one side of the lid. I sewed the stem's back loop to the stitches on one side.
