Plush Hyena

Free Plush Hyena crochet pattern by Irina Artemova @irinely_art.
With this pattern, you can crochet a plush hyena. Any plush yarn will work well for this amigurumi project: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, NAKO Bonbon Panda Baby, and others.
The finished toy measures about 21 cm.
Materials and Tools
- Plush yarn: Himalaya Dolphin Baby 80342 beige (about 67 g), 80337 brown (about 40 g)
- Acrylic yarn: black (for the mane)
- 4 mm crochet hook
- 9 mm safety eyes
- Toy stuffing
- White and black felt (for the nose and eyes)
- Sewing thread
- Needle for sewing the parts together
- Scissors

For one ear, make two pieces: one beige and one brown.

2: Starting in the second chain from the hook, 7 sc, 1 tch, turn
3: 5 sc, sl st, 1 tch, turn

5: 4 sc, sl st, 1 tch, turn

Place the two pieces together as shown in the photo. Crochet around the edge with single crochet stitches through both layers. Repeat the same steps for the second ear:

Cut two ovals out of white felt for the eyes. Approximate size: 2 x 2.2 cm.

Cut one oval out of black felt for the nose. Approximate size: 2 x 2.5 cm.

At this stage, you can insert the eyes. Make a small slit in the felt circles, push the eye post through, and insert the eyes between rounds 8 and 9 on the head. Secure them with the backs. Sew the white felt pieces in place with white thread.

Pull the opening closed.
Next, sew on the black felt nose with black thread:

Mane
For the mane, prepare many strands of hair from black yarn, each about 7-8 cm long. The photos below show the basic method for attaching the strands:

At the end, you can make an accessory from plush fabric. This type of fabric does not fray, so there is no need to finish the edges. Prepare a rectangle measuring 30 x 5 cm. Then cut out the following shape:
