Plush Dog

Free crochet pattern for the Plush Dog by Irina Artemova @irinely_art.

With this pattern, you can crochet a plush dog wearing a little scarf. Any plush yarn will work well for this amigurumi project: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, NAKO Bonbon Panda Baby, Etrofil YONCA Baby, and others.

The finished toy measures about 18-20 cm.

Materials and tools

• Plush yarn: Etrofil YONCA Baby (70703 main color), less than one skein
• Plush yarn: Himalaya Dolphin Baby (80337 for the muzzle and ears)
• Plush yarn: Himalaya Dolphin Baby (80311 for the nose)
• Pekhorka Zimnyaya Premyera yarn (60 for the scarf)
• 4 mm crochet hook
• 9 mm safety eyes
• Fiberfill
• White and black thread for sewing the pieces together
• Needle
• Scissors

Arms (make 2)

Using beige yarn:

1: 6 sc in MR
2: 6 inc (12)
3: 12 sc
4: 10 sc, 2 inc (14)
5-7: 14 sc (3 rounds)
8: 2 dec, 10 sc (12)
9: 1 dec, 10 sc (11)
10: 1 dec, 9 sc (10)

Stuff lightly with fiberfill.

Ears (make 2)

Using brown yarn:

1: 6 sc in MR
2: 6 inc (12)
3-4: 12 sc (2 rounds)
5: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
6-8: 18 sc (3 rounds)

Fold in half and sew closed.

Nose

Using black yarn:

1: 6 sc in MR, sl st

Muzzle

Using brown yarn:

1: 6 sc in MR
2: 6 inc (12)
3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)

Fold the circle in half and sew it closed. Sew the nose onto the muzzle.

Legs (make 2)

Using beige yarn:

1: 6 sc in MR

3-4: 12 sc (2 rounds)

6-8: 18 sc (3 rounds)

Body-head

Stuff as you go. Using beige yarn:

1: Join the two legs; crochet 18 sc around one leg and 18 sc around the other leg (36)
2-6: 36 sc (5 rounds)
7: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)
8-9: 30 sc (2 rounds)
10: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
11: 24 sc (attach the arms in this round)
12: 24 sc

16-19: 42 sc (4 rounds)

Insert the safety eyes between rounds 20 and 21.

Pull the opening closed.

Scarf

The scarf is very simple. You can make it any length and in any color you like. Example:

Using light blue yarn:

1: 100 ch
2: Starting in the second chain from the hook, 99 sc, 1 tch
3: 99 sc

Fasten off and trim the ends.

Assembly

• Sew the ears and muzzle to the head
• Decorate the puppy with the scarf
