Crocheted Plush Bunny

A free crochet bunny tutorial by Anastasia Kravchenko @nastyakravchenko27.

With this pattern, you can crochet a bunny with long ears. Any plush yarn will work for this amigurumi project. The bunny is made with Himalaya Dolphin Baby. The muzzle is made with Alize Softy.

Materials and tools

• Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn: 80325 gray (2 skeins), 80301 white
• Alize Softy yarn: 55 white
• 5 mm and 2.5 mm crochet hooks
• 18 mm safety eyes
• Doll eyelashes
• 18 mm safety nose
• Toy stuffing
• Discs (3 cm, 4 pcs; 4 cm, 4 pcs), or joints in the same sizes
• Cotter pins 4 cm and 3.3 cm long
• Glue
• Stitch markers
• Needle
• Scissors

Crochet plush bunny amigurumi pattern

Legs (make 2)

1. Start with white yarn. Chain 5 ch
2. Starting in the second chain from the hook: 1 sc, 2 sc, 5 sc in the last 4th chain, turn; 2 sc, 3 sc in one stitch (13)

After finishing round 17, insert the disc with the cotter pin (joint).

Right leg

Insert the disc with the cotter pin between rounds 15 and 16, go down 1 round. In round 16, there was an increase; count 5 sc from it (including the increase) and insert the disc with the cotter pin (joint). Then finish crocheting the leg (rounds 18, 19, and 20). Do not forget to stuff the leg!

Cut the yarn, close the opening, and hide the end. Crochet the left leg the same way as the right one, but insert the disc with the cotter pin from the other side.

Left leg

Insert the disc with the cotter pin (joint) between rounds 15 and 16, go down 2 rounds, count back 5 sc from the end of round 17, and insert the disc with the cotter pin (joint). Then finish crocheting the leg (rounds 18, 19, and 20). Do not forget to stuff the leg!

After finishing round 16, attach the legs. Count 7 rounds up from the MR (magic ring) and insert the legs between rounds 7 and 8. The distance between the front leg attachment points is 18 sc (counting each decrease as 1 sc). Then continue crocheting the body to the end.

6-7. 38 sc (Alize Softy yarn is not the easiest to work with, especially when using a crochet hook, so if you end up with 1-2 extra sc, that is fine)

Shape the muzzle

• Glue the eyelashes onto the eyes.
• Insert the eyes between rounds 9 and 10, leaving 7 sc between them.
• Insert the nose into the muzzle, then sew the muzzle on.
• Sew it from the start of round 9 to the end of round 16.
• Stuff the muzzle lightly.
• Make a tightening stitch from the nose to the very bottom of the muzzle.
