Amigurumi M&Ms candy crochet

Free M&Ms Keychain crochet tutorial by Svetlana Majorovskaya.

With this tutorial, you can crochet an M&Ms keychain. For this amigurumi project, any cotton blend yarn will work: Gazzal Baby Cotton, YarnArt Jeans, Vita Lira, and others. The eyes are fully crocheted and made with thin Iris thread. The letter M is made from white felt and sewn on.

There are three character options: red, yellow, and blue. The same pattern is used for all of them. The arms are crocheted in beige and white.

You can make the keychain hanger yourself or use a ready-made chain/clasp/cord.

Amigurumi M&Ms Candy Keychain Crochet Pattern

Arms (2 pieces)

Crochet 8 fingers for two arms, do not cut the yarn. White Iris yarn.

1. sc in MR
2-4. 6 sc
Join the fingers:
5. Join finger 2 with 3 sc, finger 3 with 6 sc, then along the other side crochet 3 sc around finger 2 and 6 sc around finger 1.
6. 18 sc
7. Join finger 4; for the left arm: 3 sc with the finger through both sides, 15 sc (18)
8. 18 sc
9. (4 sc, dec) x 3 (15)
10. 15 sc
11. (3 sc, dec) x 3 (12)
Change to beige yarn, cut the white yarn, but leave it for edging the arm.
12. in BLO 12 sc
13-18. 12 sc, stuff only the palm lightly
14. 6 sc through both sides of the arm, fasten off, leave yarn for sewing. The right arm is crocheted the same way, only in round 7 crochet: 6 sc, 3 sc through both sides of finger 4, and to the end of the round.

In round 12, crochet 12 sc in FLO with white yarn.

Eyes

The eyes are fully crocheted. With black Iris yarn (or equivalent):

1. 5 ch, in the second ch from the hook: 1 sc, 1 sc, 3 sc in the last ch, and on the other side 2 sc; change to white yarn
2. 1 sc, 1 sl st, dc inc, 1 sl st, 1 sc; fasten off the yarn and leave for sewing.

Change to beige yarn, cut white yarn, and leave the tail for edging.

16. through both loops 6 sc, fasten off, cut yarn, and leave for sewing.

In round 9, crochet 12 sc in FLO with white yarn. I made the mouth based on my own keychain. I made a chain of ch and sewed it to the body.

Toy Assembly

Use the main photo as a guide for assembly.

  • Sew on the eyes, arms, and legs, then embroider eyebrows.
  • I cut the letter out of felt and glued it to the body.
  • Sew on the chain with a ring.
