Meme Cat

Free crochet tutorial for Meme Cat by Agnia Roginskaya of Milota tois.

With this pattern, you can crochet a cute cat in headphones from The Sims meme. For this amigurumi project, you will need Wolans Bunny baby plush yarn (or you can substitute yarn with the same yardage). A small bow will work well for decorating the toy. For the face, you will need plastic safety eyes and a nose.

Materials and Tools

• Plush yarn, 120 m per 100 g (Wolans Bunny baby), in beige, light beige, white, and green
• Black thread similar to YarnArt Jeans for embroidering the eyebrows and eyelashes (optional)
• 3.5-4 mm crochet hook
• 10 mm safety eyes
• 8 mm cat safety nose
• Toy stuffing
• Stitch markers
• Pins
• Pink bow
• Needle for sewing pieces together
• Scissors

Amigurumi Crochet Pattern: Meme Cat

Bold text means crochet those stitches with light beige yarn!

Body

Start crocheting from the bottom, using beige yarn (NOT light beige!).

The tail and paws should be positioned exactly as shown in the photo. If needed, work offset stitches!

Next come the rounds where you crochet the patch on the chest and face, so watch the colorwork and align it with offset stitches as needed! (You can also crochet the cat in a solid color.)

Cut the light beige yarn.

Insert the eyes between rounds 13 and 14, and the nose in round 12. Stuff the toy firmly.

Add a little more stuffing to the toy.

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Pull the opening closed. Hide the yarn tail.

Face Sculpting

Use the classic method. Follow the instructions below.

• Insert the needle at point 1 and bring it out at point 2.
• Insert the needle at point 3 and bring it out at point 4.
• Insert the needle at point 1 and bring it out at point 5.
• Insert the needle at point 6 and bring it out at point 1.
• Pull the sculpting thread tight and tie several knots. Hide the extra ends.

Headphones

Crochet with white yarn.

1. 8 sc in MR (8)
2. (inc with 3 sc, 1 sc) x 4 (16)
3. BLO: 16 sc (16)
4. BLO: 8 dec (8)

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Sew the headphones to the sides of the head.

After sewing on both headphones, connect them with a chain of ch stitches (the chain length may vary, so I am not giving an exact number of ch stitches).

Crystal

You can crochet it with green yarn using the pattern below, or make it from chenille wire.

3. (1 sc, inc) x 4 (12)
4. 12 sc (12) You can skip this round if you want a smaller crystal.
5. (1 sc, dec) x 4 (8)
6. 2-3 dec

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Sew the crystal onto the headphones, centered, catching several stitches of the head.

Finishing

Glue the nose in round 12 if you did not insert it earlier. Embroider the eyebrows and eyelashes if desired, and you can also "sculpt" the little line under the nose. Glue the pink bow to the head.
