Amigurumi Marshmallow Elephant crochet

With this pattern, you can crochet a plush elephant. Any plush yarn will work well for this amigurumi: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, Kartopu Yumurcak, YarnArt Dolce, Kamtex Velour, and others. If desired, you can decorate the toy with a satin ribbon bow.

Finished toy size is about 23-25 cm.

Head

Start crocheting from the trunk. Stuff the piece as you crochet, but do not stuff the trunk.

Keep decreasing until the opening is closed. If you are using safety eyes, insert them between rounds 14 and 15 (with 2 sc between them).

Work several slip stitches, cut the yarn, and leave a 10-15 cm tail. Sew the ears between rounds 17 and 18. Place each ear against the head with the side where you finished crocheting and where the yarn tail remains. Sew with cotton blend or cotton yarn in a similar color. After that, hide the plush yarn tail inside the piece (using a hook or a large-eye needle).

Arms (make 2)

Rnd 1: 2 ch, 7 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook (7)
Rnds 2-8 (7 rnds): 7 sc (7)

Fold the piece in half and crochet 3 sc through both layers to close the opening. Do not stuff.

Legs (make 2)

Rnd 1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook (6)
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnds 3-7 (5 rnds): 12 sc (12)

Body

Rnd 8: On the second piece, do not cut the yarn. Crochet a chain of 3 ch, then work 12 sc on the first leg, 3 sc along the chain, 12 sc on the second leg, and 3 sc on the opposite side of the chain. You should have 30 sc (30)
Rnds 9-12 (4 rnds): 30 sc (30)
Rnd 13: (4 sc, dec) x 5 (25)
Rnd 14: 25 sc (25)

Rnd 19: 18 sc. In this round, crochet in the arms: place them where they will be attached and crochet through that spot together with the arm. (18)

Work several slip stitches, cut the yarn, and hide the tail inside the piece. Sew the head to the body. Your little elephant is ready!
