Round 28: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12)
Stuff firmly.
Round 29: 6 dec

Pull the stitches closed and close the opening!

I used screw-on safety eyes, the kind that fasten from the inside, so I attached them while the head was still unstuffed. I placed them approximately between rounds 12 and 13 (with 12 stitches between the eyes).

After I finished crocheting and stuffing the head, I made small eye indentations. Since I had already attached the eyes, I made the indentations slightly above the eyes. If you are sewing on the eyes, make the indentations first, then sew on the eyes.

Ears (Make 2)

Crochet with the main-color yarn. Do not stuff.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: crochet without changes, 12 sc
Round 4: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
Rounds 5-7: crochet without changes, 18 sc

Rounds 9-21 (13 rounds): crochet without changes, 24 sc
Round 22: (2 sc, dec) x 6 times (18)
Round 23: crochet without changes, 18 sc

Fold the edges of the ear together and crochet through both layers with sc. Leave a yarn tail for sewing.

Body + Dress

Start crocheting with the main-color yarn.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 times (24)

Round 8: (6 sc, inc) x 6 times (48)
Rounds 9-16 (8 rounds): crochet without changes, 48 sc
Round 17: (6 sc, dec) x 6 times (42)
Rounds 18-20: crochet without changes, 42 sc
Change to the additional yarn color.
Round 21: (5 sc, dec) x 6 times (36)
Round 22: crochet in BLO, 36 sc
Round 23: crochet without changes, 36 sc
Round 24: (4 sc, dec) x 6 times (30)
Rounds 25-26: crochet without changes, 30 sc
Round 27: (3 sc, dec) x 6 times (24)
Rounds 28-29: crochet without changes, 24 sc
Round 30: crochet in BLO, 24 sc

Cut the yarn. Leave a tail for sewing.

In round 30, where we crocheted in BLO, work the collar into the front loops. I used a thin white cotton yarn and worked counterclockwise:

Round 1: turning ch, sc in each stitch to the end of the round, sl st at the end
Round 2: turning ch, (sc, dc, sc) in one stitch, sl st in the next stitch, then (sc, dc, sc) again and sl st in the next stitch...continue alternating this way to the end of the round (you should get small arches). At the end, sl st and hide the yarn tail.

In round 22, where we crocheted in BLO, work the skirt into the front loops, counterclockwise, using yarn in the same color as the upper part of the body:

Round 1: ch 3 for turning, dc inc in each stitch around. You should have 72 dc total, sl st at the end of the round.
Rounds 2-4: ch 3 for turning, crochet without changes, 72 dc, sl st at the end of each round
Round 5: ch 3 for turning, (11 dc, inc) x 6 times (78), sl st at the end.
Round 6: ch 3 for turning, crochet without changes, 78 dc, sl st at the end.
Round 7: ch 3 for turning, (12 dc, inc) x 6 times (84), sl st at the end.

Front Paws (Make 2)

Start crocheting with the main-color yarn.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Rounds 3-5: crochet without changes, 12 sc
Round 6: (2 sc, dec) x 3 times (9)
Round 7: 4 sc (1 sc in each stitch of the previous round), bobble made of 3 dc worked together in the next stitch (this is the thumb), 4 more sc.
Round 8: crochet without changes, 9 sc
Stuff. Change to the additional yarn color.
Round 9: (2 sc, inc) x 3 times (12)
Round 10: crochet in the back half loop, 12 sc
Stuff every 4-5 rounds as you crochet.
Rounds 11-25: crochet without changes, 12 sc
Stuff firmly.
Round 26: 6 dec

Pull the stitches closed and close the opening. Leave a yarn tail for sewing. On round 10, where we crocheted in the back half loop, crochet a ruffle around it. See the collar in the "Body" section.

Back Paws (Make 2)

Crochet with the main-color yarn. IMPORTANT! Stuff the top of the paw very lightly, about half full, so when it is squeezed, the bulge forms only on one side, the outside, and there is a slight indentation on the inside.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
Rounds 4-10 (7 rounds): 18 sc
Round 11: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12)
Round 12: crochet without changes, 12 sc

Stuff.

Start crocheting the heel (it is worked like the heel of a sock, as a flat piece, in turning rows).

Crochet 4 sc, sl st in the next stitch, turning ch, turn the work and crochet back 5 sc, sl st in the next stitch, turn the work
6 sc, sl st in the next stitch, turn the work
7 sc, sl st in the next stitch, turn the work
8 sc, sl st in the next stitch, turn the work
9 sc, sl st in the next stitch, turn the work, and at this point
place a marker and continue crocheting in the round (at this point the crochet direction should be the same as at the start of the paw, and the stitch count should remain the same as it was at the start of the heel: 12 sc).

Rounds 13-15: crochet without changes, 12 sc
Round 16: (3 sc, inc) x 3 times (15)
Rounds 17-19: crochet without changes, 15 sc
Round 20: (4 sc, inc) x 3 times (18)
Rounds 21-23: crochet without changes, 18 sc
Stuff.
Round 24: (2 sc, inc) x 6 times (24)
Round 25: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times (30)
Rounds 26-31 (6 rounds): crochet without changes, 30 sc
Round 32: (3 sc, dec) x 6 times (24)
Round 33: (2 sc, dec) x 6 times (18)
Stuff.
Round 34: (1 sc, dec) x 6 times (12)
Round 35: 6 dec

Assembly and Finishing

  • Sew all pieces together as shown in the photo.
  • Before sewing on the ears, fold them together and secure them with 1-2 stitches.
  • Embroider the nose.
  • I attached the whiskers the same way we hide a yarn tail inside a piece: insert and pull out the needle with the fishing line several times until you feel that the fishing line is firmly secured and does not pull out. Then carefully trim the excess ends. Remember to keep everything symmetrical.

Apron

  • For the top, I used a 5x5 cm piece of fabric. For the bottom, 10x12 cm.
  • Finish the top on a sewing machine and sew satin ribbons to the sides; these will tie around the neck.
  • Finish the bottom on a sewing machine and make two darts in the center.
  • Use satin ribbon to sew the top and bottom together, leaving two more ribbon ends for ties at the waist.
