Next, crochet a milk-colored belly for embroidery. If you will not be using embroidery, continue crocheting 114 sc through round 41. When changing colors, it is better to cut the thread and tie a knot inside the piece. This uses less yarn, but you can also skip this and carry the yarn while crocheting around it.

Eyes (2 Pieces)

Start with brown yarn. Make a magic ring, but do not pull it closed. Crochet 15 dc, then change to milk yarn and crochet 2 tr in each stitch (30).

Now pull the yarn tight around the eye so that it fits snugly around the eye post.

Secure and cut the extra yarn ends, leaving only the tail for sewing.

Place the eyes above the belly wherever you like, and stuff the owl. The stuffing density is up to you. Next, close the opening by crocheting the loops through both walls of the piece. Secure and cut the yarn.

Feet (2 Pieces)

Crochet the feet with yellow yarn. For each foot, you will need blanks made from 3 pieces (toes):

1. 6 sc in MR
2-4. 6 sc

On the first two blanks, secure and cut the yarn. On the third toe, do not cut the yarn; start joining the toes together as follows:

  • On the third toe, crochet 3 sc, join the second toe, and crochet 6 sc along it, then 3 sc of the third toe.
  • Join the next toe: 6 sc along the piece, 6 sc along the last toe, and another 6 sc (18),
  • 5 sc and place a marker. It should sit in the middle of the inner side of the foot.

After joining the feet, immediately insert a wire frame so the toes can bend. You can also make them without it.

5-6. 18 sc
7. 3 sc, dec, 8 sc, dec, 3 sc (16)
8. 3 sc, dec, 6 sc, dec, 3 sc (14)
9. 3 sc, dec, 5 sc, dec, 2 sc (12)
10. 2 sc, dec, 4 sc, dec, 2 sc (10)
11. 10 sc
12. 5 dec

Pull the opening closed. Secure the yarn. If desired, you can leave the yarn uncut and use it to sew the foot to the owl's body.
